To continue the Afellay discussion from another thread, I don't understand why Pep instructs him to move so extreme to the left flank. He just gets into the fullback's way. He needs to learn to play in the left-centre channel, like Iniesta when he plays as part of the front 3.

Knockout away game winless streak is over 
As expected, Afellay looked much more comfortable once he dropped into the centre (after Pedro and Jeffren came on for Villa and Xavi). I hope he stays next season, and that Thiago gets more chances, and we wait one more year before signing Cesc.

What would be the point of that? Just give Arsenal the 50m for Franny and be done with it.
