An all English tie, and the winner gets the bonus of being able to face a not-as-good-as-last-year Inter in a winnable semifinal...but I expect this to be a pretty boring tie as they will be wary of each other. Ties featuring two teams from the same country are never that good anyway.

Fergle won't like coming to Stamford Bridge twice in 1 season. The referee will find some way of robbing Man Utd

Maybe it won't be so bad after all, their last Premier League game was quite entertaining.fcb wrote:An all English tie, and the winner gets the bonus of being able to face a not-as-good-as-last-year Inter in a winnable semifinal...but I expect this to be a pretty boring tie as they will be wary of each other. I think Chelsea will go through, they have a decent chance to go into CL final and save their season.

I don't know. The Torres / Drogba / Anelka problem will be a difficult one for Ancelotti to overcome
Either way I'm looking forward to it. Good draw all round.

Get these two gaddamn awful playing teams with their pussy football out of the competition already. 0-0, 0-0, it'll go to PK's and who cares which one advances to the semifinal, they're both Rubin Kazan in disguise.

Unsurprisingly puro's input is a load of tripe (when was the last time a Chelsea-Man Utd game finished 0-0? 6 years ago?).
And unsurprisingly Inter fan bobo provides a typically invaluable and insightful contribution.
Nevertheless, I very much doubt this will be the most spectacular tie of the four. But people were saying that before the 7-5 aggregate tie of Chelsea v Liverpool two seasons back, so who knows.

Not once have I seen bobo mention Lazio on this forum (unless it's to post a scoreline or league table update).
Mention Inter in any bad context, on the other hand, and he becomes more defensive than abundance and yourself.

Some rumours that United will have to play without van der Sar, who is having elbow's injury. Kuszczak his replacement.

United have very little chance of winning this game and/or going through. The Torres effect will cripple Vidic and the shaky defence will collapse.
The Man Utd MF is one of the worst in the EPL and has litte flair, power or imagination UNLESS Nani and Valencia play on the wings are in TOP FORM! (but that wont happen tonight).
On top of that there is the dud that is Berba who NEVER scores in big games!
Then there is Wayne-toilet-mouth-pig-face-ugly-fat-over-hyped-ugly-fat-not-good-enough-to-tie-CR7s-bootlace-conte-Rooney! He wont do bugger all cos he just a overy-hyped toss£r!
So that leaves only dear old Little Pea - a boy that plays with joy and is a joy to watch. But given the Chelsea defence and their vast experience they will easily snuff him out (if he starts/plays).
So all in all - I see 3-1 pasting and Man Utd gettinmg kicked out following a shabby 1-1 draw at home.
Still.
Maybe this summer Conte-Rooney will be sold to Real Madrid and Man Utd can buy Aguerro and Nayamar.

I agree Vidic needs to be on guard against Torres as usually the Spaniard makes him look very silly but that was when Torres was a good player. Will Torres even start? On form, Drogba, Anelka and Kalou should be ahead of him.
It doesn't matter that United's midfield is pretty average Nutters because Chelsea's is equally as poor. In fact United's is probably a little bit better with the return of Valencia and Park.
I fully expect tonight to be goal-less and with the second leg being of course at Old Trafford, Chelsea have little chance against the Prawn sarnie munchers and the referee.
I think i've resigned myself to the fact that United will play a Schalke side who will roll over in awe at OT then somehow fluke a revenge against Barca at Wembley where Ray Wilkins and Jamie Redknapp will be watching on with glee at the perfect advertisment for literally English football.

Lu, I would love to agree with you..BUT this is a TOOTHLESS (CR7-less) side and sadly Chelsea have 4 years of pain to turn over!
I expect from the opening 10 mins a 5-0 thrashing!
Fat-pie-eating-conte is looking like his useless self and going missing in the big games - plus no Nani(!!!)
