Why the fuck are the Wigan fans on the pitch? They'll probably still go down.

Coming back from 0-2 to 3-2 in the last minute in a crucial relegation match. It's hardly surprising they excited!

To go on the pitch though? You only do that when you're sure of safety.

Parker is ridiculously overrated. Your midfield seems to be working very well at the moment and (with the exception of today, perhaps) is playing good football. Signing Parker would be a real backwards step, unless he's brought in as a squad player.

I agree we don't need Parker, not at that age.
He'd do a brilliant job for Stoke IMO.

Yeah, but a match like that, it probably felt like a cup final win.
Plus their game on the last day is at Stoke. If they stay up and run on the pitch there, they'll get bricks and aborted mutant incest babies thrown at them. Best to get the pitch invasion out the way at home

Demba Ba would be a great signing for us. Parker isn't as good as Tiote though, that is a fact.

He's looked distinctly average whenever he's played for England (so have a lot of players to be fair).
It's easier to look good if you're playing well (individually) in a struggling side than if you're playing well in a team which is also playing well because pundits and fans alike appear to give more credit to players who are playing well in a failing team. He does a good job of protecting the back 4 but in my opinion, Tiote has had a better season than him doing a similar role but gets one-tenth of the praise.

Has anyone said he's amazing? IMO he's a better CM than Gerrard, Lucas and Spearing. I would would prefer Parker as Arsenal's DM over Song for away games where being able to tackle accurately has its advantages.
I would prefer Parker over Carrick/Anderson/Gibson
I would p[refer Parker over Lampard... and possibly Mikel
I would prefer Parker over Barry/Milner(in CM)
He's definitely good enough to be a squad player in a CL team and a starter over some of the dross these teams have.

I'd say winning the football writers award and having his performances highlighted every week by the pundits on MOTD and every time West Ham are on Sky Sports/ESPN would justify this.
In the past I've always been a critic of Lucas but if you put him into West Ham's side and Parker into Liverpool's side this season their recognition from pundits and (other team's) fans would have been completely reversed (i.e. Lucas would have got phenomenal praise while Parker's performances would have only been noticed by Liverpool fans).
I too would prefer Parker over Lampard if he scored 20 goals a season. Let's not forget that Parker and Lampard were once at the same club, and one of them couldn't cut it.
I agree he's probably good enough to have as a squad player (see my original post), but no more than that.

Yeah I'd take Parker at Villa, think 'arry will finally get him though. Haven't really seen enough of Ba to say.
Wouldn't mind going for Tomkins. He's promising..Hope we stay away from Rob Green (there's been rumours )
Might be a good chance for WHam to clear out all the dross and build up a new team around the homegrown players like Noble, Collison, Tomkins. Carlton Cole will probably score loads in Championship.

No more watching Arsenal for another three months. That's just about the most positive thing I can take from today. It takes the piss that they can try to justify such a hike in ticket prices to watch those spineless, characterless pricks go through the motions again next year. They're a truly pathetic team.

Re: Premier League 14-17 May + FA Cup Final
Good solid win for us today. The penalty was a joke, but overall we played some good stuff. Liverpool tried the battering ram approach and it didn't work. They need some more craft in that midfield if they want 4 th next season.
I was in a pub full of Cockney Liverpool fans and the Spurs lot made a point of not celebrating the penalty, even though we ve had some horrendous luck/calls recently. But the not so long later Sandro gets dangerously pushed by Skrtel and falls dangerously over the hoardings into the crowd, and it gets the biggest cheer from the Pool fans of the match, and then repeatedly as they show the replay. Needless to say that classless attitude is what sums up your average cockney red

Gerrard, Meireles and Aquilani will certainly help but creative wide players remain a flaw in this side which will hopefully be rectified, much like your problem of having to play all season without a striker.

Congrats Noah and T/S. Defended brilliantly today. Toughest game Suarez has had since he joined but starting Carroll certainly played into your strengths. Don't really know why Dalglish chose to change a winning shape.
It's quite amazing the impact Ledley King has whenever he comes in. Truly a top defender.

We re too good for Huntelaar who is, let's be honest, a midtable Bundesliga player at best. Which translates as a Championship player over here..@casts line and waits for bite
Whilst it remains pure speculation over what could have been had we had a decent striker, today firmly proved how much we have missed a fit Ledley King - his organisational , positional and technical ability is on a par with the best in the league and also Europe. We re like a different side defensively when he plays as he also seems to improve this around him, notably Dawson.
May be the last we see of Ledders, aside from pictures of him falling out of a nightclub. That dodgy knee has robbed us of a truly World Class centreback .
Edit: just seen Kas' post. Good to see I'm not the only one who noticed. And I'm clearly biased

West Ham were mopping the floor with Wigan WITHOUT the so called "player of the year". So what do you do to make sure the midfield is lost? You put in there Scott "player of the year" Parker, and the floodgates opened.
Yet another example that the team plays better WITHOUT the overrated local boy. TFS mes amis! It's the truth. Scott Parker...
