The most remarkable thing (from reading the comments below the video) is the number of people who believe the video is genuine.

TBH, my opinion on the subject is that I don't care about Ryan Giggs' personal affairs. However, I am offended that he and his lawyers see fit to try to sue Twitter and its users. I don't care about the the gossip papers but if the lawsuit against Twitter goes through then it really would be a knock in the teeth for free speech. Twitter and the Internet in general are not a reliable sources of information but we've seen with twitter in Egypt that its a great way of organising debates and protests. Also, wikileaks has shown us the power of the internet with regards to free speech. It would be a huge shame if the government manages to curtail its use just because of a dickhead footballer wants to cheat on his Mrs without the public knowing. I would guess that the government would love the lawsuit to work out so they can restrict free speech through the back door.
On a connected note. People need to get their own lives and stop gossiping about other people, especially people they don't know. It does not make you're life more fulfilling. And if it does, then that is really sad...

Daft by Giggs to try to have a disclosure order put on Twitter, giving more fuel to the fire and pretty futile by the look of it.

That was surprising, it made me wonder why we have been fucking about for so long when the scotch could just print the stories.

I don't care who does what and so on (although my last hopes lay with the 'old horde'), I care that he can tackle the public in such an order and that the country accepts it. The fact that it's not some young guy with no morale but Giggs was a bit disappointing, yes.shazlx wrote:? Probably because you can get Scottish papers in England. The Scottish papers are usually too chicken to break English court orders even though they don't apply up here.
They haven't been brave enough to put it on their website.

Surprising that no criticism seems to have come the courts' way for granting a superinjunction in a case like this in the first place. There is no public interest that needed to be protected that could come close to requiring an injunction, let alone a superinjunction. If he wanted privacy, he should have kept his trousers zipped. Simple as that.

BBC mentioned another player who's placed a superinjunction over reports of an affair. Who's that?

A load of the other superinjunctions have been revealed on twitter. Hugh Bonneville (an actor) with the escort Rooney was shagging, Gabby Logan with Alan Shearer etc, they are all out there in the public domain, they were even on wikipedia. By getting injunctions they have made these things that would have been only a few days staory into something thats dragging on and on.
