    Thomas Hitzlsperger Empty Thomas Hitzlsperger

Post by anglophileHedgehog Mon Aug 21, 2006 7:50 pm

First of all, I'd like to apologise for cluttering up this board... However after seeing him dropped from the squad this weekend, it becomes more and more apparent that he should start looking out for another club to join.

I have two questions for the Villa fans on here (or anyone who saw him play during his time in England, really): Which position was he played best in (LM, defensive midfield...?) and is there a chance you (or any other club for that matter) might take him back? His relationship with the Stuttgart coach is rather strained (to put it mildly) as Veh accused him of being arrogant and not self-critical enough. Also, as the club brought in another LM, his chances to play are minimal.

    Thanks in advance. Smile

Thought he played more central for villa. Never thought he was that good, just could score a wonder goal now and then

I though He played LDM. Had an awesome left foot, something akin to Riise's.

he generally played left mid. l r d got it about right -had a great shot on him but never really impressed me hugely, wasn't dominant enough to be a central mid and wasn't really fast/skilled enough for a wide player.

can't imagine us taking him back, but someone else in the prem might take him - portsmouth are after a left sided player, been trying to nick gareth barry off us

Those highlight-reel goals paper over some wide cracks.

Are you insane?! Hitz at leftback is a catastrophe... Klinsmann unsuccessfully tried to convert him into a defender at the ConFed Cup nd failed and the match against Nuremberg last week just cemented that fact.

    His positioning is atrocious there!

Shouldnt be a suprise, a German at Aston Villa...they also had a Dutch keeper who

    Did this...

I think it's because being an Aston Villa player is that boring, you are gonna look for some other ways of excitement!
