Losers make lame excuses. Hope Spurs draw a German team, e.g. Hannover if they go through.

Yeah, right. Germans neglected this competition way too long (Beckenbauer: "Loser Cup"). Just in recent years they've finally woken up.

Hannover need to keep the ball longer, more composure on the counter.

Unbelievable, I just don't understand how the ref didn't give a pen for that.

Losers
Trying to finish 4th again this season is what a team with real ambition would do. Last time we did it we had 7th highest wage bill in the league so it's not all about what team spends the most money.
The day we settle for being a team only good enough for the Europa League is the day we become a loser team
But yes, drawing a Bundesliga team would be fun. As it always is with Engger encounters (or Gereng if you're a 'schlander)

Re: 2011/12 Europa League Qualifying Rounds
Pander will put you to the sword Bernd, just like he did with England a few years ago.
It's not about settling with the Europa League. But once you are in a competition, you try your best to win it. That's what true winners do. Otherwise you could save you the effort and don't qualify for it.

Btw, Legia eliminating Spartac Moscow is one of the biggest upsets in 4th round. Both games were great to watch too

Re: 2011/12 Europa League Qualifying Rounds
Sevilla won this competition twice in recent years, were one of the seeded teams. Hannover weren't seeded whatsoever, hadn't played in Europe for ages (don't even know when the last time?). Truly amazing result, congrats!
Slomka is awesome. First he reached the CL 1/4 finals with a very limited Schalke side, now he knocked Sevilla out with Hannover (!). Very underrated coach.

Our fringe players will get good game time using this competition, it's not a waste. It's about developing the club - what's better for the club is what counts. Putting out our best team every Thursday night to be tired/injured for the weekend is not in our best interests.
Besides, our fringes will be good enough to finish off second rate teams like Hannover don't worry about it

Ouch. Hadn't even checked the other results yet. Helps the BL indeed. Bayern should try to win both matches against Napoli, too.
