He looks great in the EPL because he's playing against SHITE midfielders. He's probably the fifth or sixth best Spanish midfielder.

I'm gonna put a SHITE LOAD of money on Man Utd to win/draw. There is no way UEFA will see them eliminated. I saw the replays of their goals against Benfica. The first one was Berbatov's offside by a meter. And Fletcher's goal could've been called off as well.

Berbatov's goal looks offside thanks to the replay,, Fletcher was clearly onside because he timed his run perfectly to meet Evra's cross

Man Utd will qualified with or without UEFA's help, we are destined for it Very Happy

I think its less of Mancio's "fault" as it is amazing stuff from Napoli... They would have beaten most sides at San Paolo tonight. Lets give some credit where its due.

Still, its not all over yet. Beating Villareal away is not a given for Napoli, the Spanish will surely play the games of their lives for pride.

Wow so many bitter people on here Smile saying Silva looks poor and Mancini is shit, they are foolish comments.

Yeah im gutted we shouldnt have rotated the full backs. Credit to Napoli though, they played very well.

Funny how nobody is slagging U*d off when they drew at home to Benfica and are struggling to get out of a piss easy group. We had a tough one and yep it looks like we wont get through but it doesnt make us a bad side and people just make themselves look foolish for carrying on like it does.

57 goals in 19 games, won 9 of our last 10, smashing teams like U*d and Spurs off the park in their own back yards....but we lost and everyone jumps on it. I guess its a sign people are worried about us so i will take it as a compliment of how far we have come. Cheers guys <Ale>

    @goater

United's position is pretty precarious not in terms of qualifying, but in terms of finishing top of the group. Benfica will probably win their last game, which would guarantee them first place. That means United could come up against Real Madrid amongst others. If they continue to play like how they are, and Real continue their form, United will probably be out by February.

It's not over yet for you guys. Napoli have to beat Villarreal, but that is not a foregone conclusion. They will be extremely tense. And besides, I think the number one goal for your club this year was to depose United. And you're well on your way in that regard.

    Witsel was good tonight.
Carrick shits himself whenever he is under any pressure of the ball. Which sadly rules out most matches. Cleverly is injured, and has had about 10 games impressing in central midfield.
And Pogba. God knows. He might be alright. In fact, I hope you start playing him.

@Hleb: did you watch the entire game? Or just in a quick glance?
Carrick never been my favourite player, but he showed a rare good performance by helping the defense with some good intercept and his passings (esp. the long range ones) were accurate. As I've told you Witsel did nothing impressive, he'll be our new Anderson

Look, if you think Carrick is the answer to your midfield problems then great. But one decent performance, and I wasn't massively impressed, in years of mediocrity means very little. But if you want to base your judgment on one game as opposed to the past two years then fine.

Witsel used the ball well nearly every time he got it, playing away from home for what was in theory an inferior team.

Do you really think your central midfield is adequate creatively?

Well done. You just listed 5 of the best midfielders in the world. None of which you have a chance of signing. From United's transfer policy this season, its clear that you're looking to sign established but young players with potential who can improve such as Young, Cole or Jones. Witsel fits into this category and would have brought a bit of guile into your midfield. Something its clearly lacking.
I think the days when you brought established world class players are over. Not that those players you listed would ever be attainable.

What do you mean Witsel type player anyway? A creative midfielder, like the ones you've listed?

You can make a wish list if you want, I was just identifying a potential summer signing that could have strengthened your team.

Probably not. Mancio is still on a learning curve as far as the CL is concerned.

But its also not a coincidence that when Mancio took over both these teams, the priority was clearly the domestic title. And in both clubs he managed to build a (quite similar) physical winning machine which annihilates everything in its path domestically... Even to this day, most of us nerazzurri find it hard to believe that we had a RECORD 17 game winning run in Serie A. 17 fuckin games without dropping a point! 17!! And now City have had the best start in Premier League history. These are not coincidences either.

Any bigging up of 'arry is always done with a stick poking fun at his self made media friendly persona.

That said, I don't get why the "learning curve" excuse is allowed for Manicini after a decade of CL failure, when 'onest 'ard working 'arry was able to acheive far more with an inferior squad to that which Mancini has had available to him, both for Man City and Inter.

To be fair, IMO whichever team that ends up 3rd in this group, whether Napoli or City (for its not decided yet), would have been more deserving of a last 16 spot than half the teams which make it. Some of the games, including tonight's, have been awesome to watch.

The very fact that a team like Villareal (even with all the injuries) is yet to get a point on the table says it all really.
