How is Teixeira's resignation being viewed and reported in South America? Will it have any implications for CONMEBOL, Brasil's World Cup and their federation?

Any word over the pond on Chuck Blazer's problems over declaration of earnings? There was a criminal investigation into his dealings with Warner (no prizes for working out who leaked that). What has happened to that investigation?

All I know about Jose Maria Marin is that he stole a medal at a youth tournament.

It's viewed as a good thing, but the new president is also very corrupt. There's a movement now to antecipate the next election for a new president.

When will that election take place and under what rules? Any chance of it becoming a new dawn for 'clean' governance of football?

The election will take place only after the WC, but some people want to antecipate it.

And yeh, an election could change things for Brazilian football.

There's a good article by Tim Vickery about the archaisms of Brazilian football:

I just watched "Elite Squad: The Enemy Within" and Brasil needs more Lt. Colonel Nascimentos.

Todo, that movie could've been about Perú too with all that corruption and the huge struggle to clean the system. <Ale>

You shouldnt try to change, it isnt in your in DNA to do that.

If everything goes well you end up at Italy or Spain, perhaps a France at best. And even those countries are still corrupt baggers.

Corruption is part of the latin culture.
