Hicks calls for Parry resignation Empty Hicks calls for Parry resignation

    Post by Z Thu Apr 10, 2008 4:40 pm

Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks has called for the resignation of the club's chief executive Rick Parry.

Hicks has written to Parry to ask him to stand down although he has no power to sanction that without the say of co-owner George Gillett.

The American is thought to be unhappy with Parry who he feels is siding with Gillett in the club's power struggle.

The news comes on a day when Dubai International Capital reportedly ended their interest in buying the club.

How will they be able to even sign players if the two of them can't agree with eachother.

    Massive joke.

We should have learnt from the Houllier and Evans nonsense that having two people sharing power is a recipe for disaster.

Thought it came to light a while back, with one wanting to get out because he was in trouble after all the financial problems in the US economy, whereas the other will not agree to sell at a low price and wants a huge premium.

tbh I don't think this will have too much of an effect on transfers, they will sort that out. But certainly Liverpool fans can forget about that new stadium for another season or two at least.

Makes me sick, first it was Benitez that they tried to oust, now Parry - when are they going to realise THEY are the fucking problem, and THEY are the ones absolutely every fucking stakeholder in the club want to see leave.

I would absolutely love to go upto Hicks and Gillet and kick 10 tonnes of $h!t out of them with clear instructions to sell up and f@ck off - they should be doing something more useful with their time like tieing the noose on each others rope Ale

And I can already see the draft of an article telling us all how the magical and spiritual atmosphere of Anfield collectively overcame the demons of off-the-pitch ownership controversies to single handedly drag Liverpool into the final of a competition they just know so well, when all had looked lost against the might of a powerful Chelsea side.

At least some of Hicks' business practices are decidely dodgy. He had to resign from the Board of UTIMCO for insider trading a few years back. He also had dealings with Bush Jnr over the Texas Rangers and regularly donates to Bush's campaigns. Completely fucked up baseball contracts as well. Gillett at least seems to have some responsibility in his actions.

The solution? Hicks and Gillette f@ck off and DIC come in, that's what everyone wants to see and I can't understand why Hicks is being such a Pr!ck about it all, surely he can find some American soccer team to purchase instead

Hicks is a greedy git. He wants either a massive return on his investment - unlikely given state of current word economy or someone idiotic to put loads of dosh in while letting him keep power. DIC quite rightly told him to go f@ck himself when he asked them to be silent partners but pay off the clubs debts that he had incurred. Good luck getting rid of them. I think Gillett wants out and at reasonable price, but Hicks wants to extract every penny he can bleed out of you. By the way haven't DIC ended their interest in purchasing Liverpool today?

Football clubs are built from the bottom up, without the football the club can never amount to anything, who wants to buy into a loseing brand?

The owners will come and go, but Liverpool FC will always live longer - this isn't a mess, its simple the owners don't fit what is required to own a club like Liverpool, they will be driven out - the issue is, they will ultimately decide who the successors will be, to be honest DIC i wouldn't be upset with, hell even Steve Morgan would be a better choice.

i'm not sure DIC would be wholly different other than you wont have two parties rangling with each other, the rest of the operation will be v similar if not even more commercial, and higher tik prices will be a dead cert, think you may be better off with a sizeable rogan taylor led consortium at least to maintain the link with supporters

    affraid

That's actually one of the most hilarous comments you've ever written Frank....

Its because of the failure to be competitive off the field, we've been unable to compete financially with our competitors over the last 10 years - a british club with the tradition domestically and european history that Liverpool have, they can potentially be marketed as the british 'Real Madrid'

    Doh
