He is ulitmately a good CM.
My view on stevie G is that he is a WC centre mid but only when on form. This is basically not worth the risk as when he is off form his passing is atrocious and CM is the worst place in the world to have bad passing. Also, lacks the tactical knowledge to be a great centre m. Physically and technically, he shouldnt have a problem. Fianlly, his version over 35 yards + is great but over 5 yards...it isnt great.

Scholes is a better central midfield player then Gerrard, however Gerrard is a far bigger attacking threat and physical presence, but i'm not sure i would really class him as a central midfielder anymore in the truest sense of the word

In the CM position. Essien,Sissoko and Scholes so far this season IMO....

Talking about midfielders, i've only seen the highlights on MOTD but Mascherano was no where near the ball in any attack apart from Samaras's 1st where he should have won the ball.

Definatly a good decision for any of teh top clubs not to get him, looks like he might take a while to settle, his lack of pace is really exposed in the prem

Well they've brought in two players who haven't adapted yet, replacing two extremely hard working players, so they're obviously going to suffer.

Yep always been a pretty useless cm, Chelsea wanted to buy him because of his amazing performance at right back towards the end of the cl final.

the problem is more the adversity of the takeover effecting the team spirit that won them a lot of games last season, it's not so much the players but everything around them threatening to undermine everything that West Ham stand for

Since when have takeovers bothered players? So long as they get paid most don't care who is paying the wage.

It is, i saw Zamora say, his name is spanish, but he cant speak the language, maybe if he could he would get an automatic starting place

It's their long term future's at the club for instance if they go on Chelsea liek spending spree's then half the players if not more will never get a game and will be sold.......many players that come through the youth system play and are motivated through what teh west ham badge represents, it's not all about money. The arrival of Mascherano and Tevez has already forced players out of the team that were playing well previously and others will fear things to come. Players don't keep their ears shut of teh pitch they know all about speculation in the papers
