Don't care about you visiting Ukraine, as I don't plan to go there. But does anyone is coming to Poland for Euro 2012? If yes, I am open for a beer. I live close to Warsaw, but one more reason to go to Wroclaw, Poznan or Gdansk never hurts.

I had plans to go to Gdansk, because a friend of my gfrind lives nearby, but i don't think it will happen in June, cause she is abroad atm and not sure to be back in Poland at that time.

Re: So, anyone is coming?
Aside from the far reach of the English super duper league, there are over 3 million Poles living in the Uk. Assuming you are what you say you are (an Englander who "favors" American english), its a lot less confusing that Stinger supports Everton than you supporting Zenit St Petersburg and Atletic Bilbao and Uruguay

I'll be in the Ukraine for most of the tournament. Not going to Poland on principle, and not the one most of you will think it is.

I think EMB has posted the opposite of that in that he is not going to Ukraine on principle, but not sure what that meant either.

Re: So, anyone is coming?
I don't care what anyone says, dropping WW2 references when conversing with German football fans will never appear dated, tiresome or boring
In more progressive news, appears the Media coverage of racism in Ukraine attacked by Official England Supporters' club:
http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/article/ALeqM5jGvIr4tgrsoBVkBtbG-B49Rcc1mw?docId=N0111621338976819645A
The official England football supporters club have criticised media coverage of racism in Ukraine ahead of Euro 2012.
Mark Perryman, the convener of the London England Fans' group, described the stories in recent weeks as "unhelpful". Former England centre-back Sol Campbell warned fans to avoid the tournament after BBC Panorama filmed football supporters in Ukraine giving Nazi salutes and taunting black players with monkey noises.
The families of black England players Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain said they would not travel to watch the matches because of fears over racism. Perryman said: "We were angry about the coverage. If there is racist abuse of our players or fans we'll be the first to complain. But we refused to believe that Ukrainians are all racist. The coverage is being unhelpful."
He added: "It (racism) happens in international football and England fans get very angry about it, (but) we don't go to a game expecting it to happen and that is the case here."
Perryman said a similar situation arose ahead of the World Cup in South Africa.
"We can remember exactly the same two weeks out from the World Cup in 2010 when we were told day after day 'you're going to be raped, car-jacked and murdered'. I think people are extremely suspicious of the way another country is being misrepresented."
Last week about 50 England supporters met UK-based Ukraine football fans at a forum in London to discuss the issue. Perryman said a group of England fans would travel to Euro 2012 wearing T-shirts that display a St George's Cross with a Ukrainian drinking toast that translates as 'Let Us Be' in English.
"That kind of sums up our approach to the Ukraine," he said. "We know Ukrainians are friendly, the sun always shines in June, the beer is cheap and there's plenty to see.
"Meeting up with Ukrainian football fans to explore their country is what we're looking forward to."

Nope, I never went and never will go to a tournament to support Holland(not counting 2000 and 2006 where I was already there) However, this time I would have made an exception if Holland either played in Breslau or Danzig. Considering my sister in law lives in that city where that Man City dance is from, I would have a great excuse. Doable with the car as well.
But since Holland plays near the Russian border its a nein.

Funny the England supporters club providing their backing to Ukraine. I predict them to cause trouble in the Ukraine, by being racist to the Ukrainians.
I was there in France98 and Germany2006 and it was mainly drunken English fans causing trouble with the natives and other fans.

I'm going to assume that you checked that those causing trouble were official England supporters club members.
Thousands of fans travels with England, and thousands of fans return having not caused any trouble whatsoever. I would suggest that places such as France or Germany due to their proximity and prominent political histories would be the exception rather than the rule.

I don't think you had to be an official supporter to cause trouble, but it probably helped as it got you tickets
I agree that thousands of fans of every nationality don't cause any trouble at all, but it seems certain nationalities are more happy than others to "add colour" to the proceedings, the most obliging being England fans.

Re: So, anyone is coming?
The Official England Supporter's clubs are the people responsible for cleaning up the image of English football fans. They are like the moderate Muslim clerics tasked with pointing out that, y'know, not EVERY person with a beard and a towel on their head is a terrorist. Shocking to believe, but true.
It's a very tight network, my brother is a member, there is absolutely no room for any members to be involved in gruesome shenanigans. You can kiss goodbye to the privileges membership entails if you pick up a criminal record or known to have been associated in fighting the krauts, spics, eyeties and kebab munchers on foreign lands in the name of St George.
Might be hard to believe given the amount of coverage given to the hooligans over the last 20 years, but you'll find that it's custom for certain supporter clubs to arrive in host country early and get involved in more positive relationship building exercises than smashing up their town centres.
All that said, a football tournament wouldn't be a tournament without a few renditions of "10 German bombers", St George flags draped over national monuments and pasty white beer bellied Geordies pouring pints over local barmaids. Long live the Queen
