It's a very tight network, my brother is a member, there is absolutely no room for any members to be involved in gruesome shenanigans. You can kiss goodbye to the privileges membership entails if you pick up a criminal record or known to have been associated in fighting the krauts, spics, eyeties and kebab munchers on foreign lands in the name of St George.
Might be hard to believe given the amount of coverage given to the hooligans over the last 20 years, but you'll find that it's custom for certain supporter clubs to arrive in host country early and get involved in more positive relationship building exercises than smashing up their town centres.
All that said, a football tournament wouldn't be a tournament without a few renditions of "10 German bombers", St George flags draped over national monuments and pasty white beer bellied Geordies pouring pints over local barmaids. Long live the Queen
A fair point and it is definitely better than it was. However it is very much dependent on whether people get the criminal record. Lots of stuff goes on where people don't even get arrested, let alone charged, taken to court etc. And there is always young blood with clean slates ready to add a bit of colour.
