Up and Coming Left Wingers? Empty Up and Coming Left Wingers?

Post by Batman Fri Jan 23, 2009 6:22 pm

Man Utd have recently signed Zoran Tošić, i have no idea how good he will be.

Liverpool signed Leto not that long ago.

Who are the other good up and coming left wingers?

Who do you think is the best, not yet signed by a major club?

how many time have you seen him play?

Diego Capel looks good, I expect the Dutchies have a couple.

Andres Guardado had a good start at Deportivo although he might be a bit injury prone.

Couple times in Champions League games for Villareal and a few cameo appearances for Liverpool last season.

He hasn't totally impressed me enough to say that he is up and coming.

hmmm. Well Leto is a good player, he's very skillfull but for the EPL I think he lacks any real physical attributes. He's pretty tall but not particularly strong or quick. He dwells on the ball a bit too much and lacks any real vision I think the setback of the injury he got in his first season, which kept him out of a few games he would have been considered for, and all this work permit business, mean he wont make it at Liverpool

He's in the Ronaldo mould for a winger. As you said he does seem pretty skill but just another type who will never make it because he can't adapt to the physical side. He has played very well for Olympiakos this season.

    Capel will never make it.

Too small and weak and he is a 1980's winger who always goes on the outside and puts in a cross - too easy for an organised defence to deal with that.

For Lyon yes but I think he has always been a second striker which he has finally been allowed to play for Marseille. So I wouldn't count on him.
Regarding wingers I would say Capel and Mata Evil or Very Mad

Isn't Sulejmani more of a winger than Suarez? Suarez looks more of an SS to me.

Both switch a lot around. Ajax attack has a lot of movement. Suarez starts wide but drifts inside a lot. In that regard similar to CRonaldo. Sulejmani plays to my knowledge a bit more as a SS lately with Cvitanich being the proper striker.

    +
Sulejmani really hasn't setted the world alight - partly due injuries. Suarez is envolved in almost all Ajax goals, assists or goals but the thing is. Ajax create a lot and he can be very frustrating missing a lot of easy chances or being too selfish.

I agree with the majority of that. Still think he's young enough to develop into a decent player so long as he can up his physical game. Easier said than done of course.

Heard on a Liverpool forum a few Greek Liverpool fans/Olympiakos fans praising him and saying they would love to keep him as he has some real talent and shown that in numerous game for them.

    An example:

The two Argies, Galletti on the right(who we were linked to a few times when at Atleti) and Leto on the left have formed what they consider their Duff-Robben style partnership.

At least if he doesn't make it hopefully we'll fetch a couple of million for him.
