Fair play to Dortmund they kept going for it. But honestly we made it very easy for them. Pepe was a spectator while Lewandowski scored two of his goals, another everyone stops waiting for the offside that never came, and just about the most naive penalty conceded by Xabi Alonso of all people. Dortmund's passing is nice and all but to me it's not more impressive than Real Sociedad. 3-0 at home isn't impossible but it means Jose is going to have to really go for it and that is the thing he hates most of all.

1 league title in three years. Difficult to call his tenure a success on that evidence. First failure of his managerial career.

2 CL semis when they weren't getting past the last 16 years on end, beating the best team in the world to a title. Not that big a failure really.

It is an unequivocal failure. Florentino sold his soul to the devil bringing Jose and he was brought here for one reason. Win the Champions League.

And it's hard to do that. Before him you were getting spanked in the last 16. Last season he was unlucky not to make the final. Tonight has been a disaster but it was a disaster for Barca too last night. These things happen sometimes. I have no doubt if Mourinho stayed another 5 seasons he'd win one or two European cups and a few titles.

With the team Mourinho has at his disposal, getting to the semi final is par for the course. Compare this team to the one Liverpool dicked on or the 2008 one which came up quickest on a google search. Bit of credit to Mourinho for improving them but how many players from that team would be in Madrid's current team:

    1 Iker Casillas
    4 Sergio Ramos
    5 Fabio Cannavaro
    6 Mahamadou Diarra
    7 Raúl González
    8 Fernando Gago
    11 Arjen Robben
    14 Guti
    16 Gabriel Heinze
    17 Ruud van Nistelrooy
    22 Miguel Torres

Excluding Casillas and Ramos for obvious reasons, I count Cannavaro, and even that's debatable as he was well past his best. It makes any comparison redundant really.

Silly Madrid. 3-1 was still doable. But 4-1 against this Dortmund...seems very difficult. I didnt expect Madrid to win, considering they got outplayed in the groupstages by them as well. But to get so humiliated, especially with Barca finally out, is embarrassing.

La Liga so weak or Bundesliga so strong. After the first SF it's already over...and after 12 years we have a German winner Sad

Guti, Robben and RVN aren't to be sniffed at, nor is Raul, arguably one of the best CL strikers of all time.

You can't just expect him to win a European Cup. Even Sir Alex fails to win a lot of them. It's very difficult to win one, as an Arsenal fan you should know this.

If you want a spectacular failure look at Mancini.

I think it's impossible for Real to keep a clean sheet against Borussia, they are way too good of counter attacking team.

What I didn't understand though is how clumsy we looked, every Dortmund players was running past our players like they were freaking Maradona. Whenever we had the ball the players looked like they were about to lose it, they seemed overwhelmed by the occassion, pressing or atmosphere.

They are good on the counter no doubt about it but if they finish like they did against Malaga in la Rosaleda, for example, 3-0 is very possible.

Not saying that they will be always as efficient as today, but first match against Malaga was also an aberration. You will have to play high defensive line against them and Borussia will have many chances to attack space behind it. 3:0 is impossible, 4:1 - maybe.

Your argument is seriously flimsy if you're using super inconsistent Guti and a passed it Raul.

Madrid only won the league due to Pep fucking up with the 343 experiment and wrecking their well practiced tiki taka by buying Cesc. :p

Again a big fail from Ozil and ok he was isolated out on the wing but I would be shocked if he completed more than 30% of his passes, too much dribbling sideways, dispossessed to easily. Really poor from him. Khedira, well, I don't need to say anything more. Modric was ok but I think he wasn't fully fit either.

Your argument is seriously flimsy if you're using super inconsistent Guti and a passed it Raul.

Madrid only won the league due to Pep fucking up with the 343 experiment and wrecking their well practiced tiki taka by buying Cesc. :p

There's no doubt Rule is one of the greatest CL strikers of all time. Not in 2008 though. RVN was passed his best, and Guti, whilst magical, was inconsistent, as Shazlx notes.

It is undoubtedly difficult to win a CL. But Mourinho was brought in with this very specific mandate. On his own terms, he's a failure. Whilst not a failure to the same level as Mancini terms in the CL, it's a failure

This Madrid team, unless it goes through next week, will have failed to reach a CL final under Mourinho, yet alone win it. What is more, this season they have regressed. Mourinho works in 2/3 year projects, so for madrid to have gone backwards is ample evidence of his failings.

The Arsenal point is fairly redundant. Wenger could have achieved more in the Champions League, but has operated on a fraction of the budget.

I think it's impossible for Real to keep a clean sheet against Borussia, they are way too good of counter attacking team.

3:0 is impossible, 4:1 - maybe.

i doubt that you will put pressure on BVB, at least not much

they outclassed you in every area, there is no chance for madrid, your organisation is so weak, i am praying this so long
So strange from a Mourinho team not to have organisation and structure. Very happy with the result though. Was a piss take that Madrid got regarded as the second best team just because they aren't as good as Barcelona. Well most teams aren't as good as Barcelona :p

Comparing Malagas and Madrids performances against Dortmund shows you how much of a better manager Pelligrini is than Mourinho.

mourinho in europe was always defensive football, he is very much overrated as coach, high line, attacking, its much harder to teach

mou is overrated, but still a good coach Very Happy
