No mention of 10 million downpayment in that article, only 28 million, so this article simply says he cost 28 million.

You kept writing 35 million, not close to anything Wink

Therefore you still haven't found an article to back your 35 million lies cheers

They both have about a 1 in 2 goals to game ratio in the league (serie a and Prem only), though cavani has score more because he has played more games at the highest level.

Don't think their is much between them to be honest, they just offer a different set of skills.

Don't think their is much between the current crop of strikers either actually, talking about

    RVP
    CAVANI
    SUAREZ
    LEWA
    FALCAO
really just down to the skill set your team is looking for and personal preference

Hardly played a full game this season, still the most efficient striker in the league - Mario Gomez. Scored a goal every 79,7 minutes played.

    http://www.spox.com/de/sport/fussball/dfbpokal/1305/Artikel/mario-gomez-schwierige-situation-zwickmuehle-pokal-finale-ex-verein-vfb-stuttgart-letztes-spiel-bayern-muenchen-ersatz.html

If you're looking for a goal scoring monster, Gomez is your man.

In the last three seasons Cavani has scored 78 in 104 for Napoli. Luis Suarez has 45 in 90 for Liverpool/Ajax in the same time.

Though he isn't a complete forward, dude score goals would make a lot of teams better

In the last three seasons he has score 38 in 77 for Liverpool, Dutch land doesn't count
If you want to go back to Ajax and Palermo days its

    120 in 213 for cavani
    119 in 187 for saurez

Also have to take into consideration king Kenny

Only included that first half of the season for Ajax to be nice. 38 in 77 in England is not bad but it's not worth 50m.

Rumours that Cavani to Chelsea is done for Eur 58m.

Not sure this is the best move for Cavani - sure he will make a lot of money, but Chelsea is not a good place for a striker. The attacking players behind the striker all fancy themselves as goalscorers, he will not get the kind of service he was getting at Napoli. Unless Mou changes things.

He should still be an upgrade on Torres though.

Be interesting to know what City's plans are. After letting Balotelli go in January and Tevez last week, they only have two strikers. They are starting to be linked with Jovetic again but there are rumours they could enter the Cavani race too.

Or maybe they will make an obscene bid for Suarez.

Cavani looks set for PSG for 63m at the mo, unless Real enter the frame.

I am surprised none of these top teams made a bid for Gomez. Fiorentina got a good deal there for 16m.

Arsenal blogs have been going mad wondering why we weren't in for him. Some just don't understand that you have to be more of an all-rounder rather than just a goalscorer these days. Unfortunately many don't look past stats.

I am not sure I agree with that. A pure, proven goalscorer is still quite valuable. Clubs like Fiorentina, Juventus, and even Arsenal were crying for one last season. Gomez would have been a good addition to all these teams. I think he will do really well at Fiorentina.

Depends on the formation and personnel. For us, we can't just have someone who sits in the box and contributes nothing to team play, effectively playing with 10 men. A striker for us needs to be adept at moving into channels as well as finishing off chances. Gomez would've been a good fit for Juve for sure ok
