Bale has a quiet game / marked out of the game, and we still manage to score twice at the Bridge and take on a team without our other best player (the Moose), up against a midfield of pure quality (Oscar, Mata, Hazard). I had visions of us getting tanked tonight in humiliating fashion.
Chelsea don't have a midfield.

Masterful job by Rafa, FFS! He and his entire team physically and emotionally drained after beating the club of the devil and yet manages to get a crucial point and practically clinching a CL spot.
Tottenham couldn't have asked for a better moment to beat Chelsea and yet they failed.
Perhaps Szczesny is right when he said "Tottenham are shite, they don't belong with the big boys".

Di Matteo was starting Ryan Bertrand in midfield.
4 points from the last two games, Man Utd and Spurs, any other set of fans would be happy with that.

Yeh, the battle with 10 man United and the likes of Anderson waddling around the pitch at half speed was so EPIC Im not sure how they managed to drag themselves off the floor for this one!
Arsenal still need to beat both Wigan and Newcastle to be guaranteed of CL football, so the Polish Hashtag Legend isn't in the clear just yet

You are more obsessed about Di Matteo and the comparison between him and Benitez than the majority of Chelsea fans. Anyway, Bertrand only started 1 game in midfield - the CL final - and he played there by default, with half the team being suspended and Malouda coming off injured against Blackburn.
I am happy with 4 points, but this proves that Rafa is a very negative manager. 2-2 with 5 minutes to go at home, he has Lampard and Ba on the bench, with the option of bringing both on if necessary and instead he decides to bring on Benayoun

maybe he brings on Ba or Lampard instead of Benayoun and Chelsea lose. Suddenly you're in the fight for 4th instead of coasting to 3rd.
Chelsea have Villa away and rudderless can't finish 5th or 7th Everton at home on the last day.

Isn't it obvious now, even to the Spanish table-lickers among us, that Ferguson gave Chelsea their victory at the weekend as a final footballing favour to his good mate Mourinho? That the purpose of that match was for Ferguson to secure Mourinho Champions League football for next season? It's obvious to me and I didn't even watch that game!
Obviously the Wigan result last night was huge for us. A win against QPR and we should be safe; we could even escape without another point if we avoid a sound beating and Wigan let in a few against Arsenal.

it's true that Manchester threw that game, but not out of any loyalty. It's was so that without CL football Bale would want to leave Tottenham and his price would come down a bit too.

Villa away and Everton at home. Despite dropping 2 points tonight, I can't see us failing to get enough points from those 2 games. But from our perspective, it would have been great for us to wrap up CL qualification with a win tonight and then be in a position to focus entirely on Benfica next week.

I can't see you ballsing it up. However, it would be wonderful if you did. But with that midfield, it's not likely. Oscar was awesome tonight, I've always believed he'd become one of the best players in Europe once he had settled. Still early, but think in two or three seasons he'll be the best central MF playmaker in the league.
We had been tracking him for ages and until you fuckers showed up and blew our offer out of the water, we were in pole position to sign him. Dicks

I know; what a fat bastard Rafa is, instead of being able to put your feet up and look forward to a Europa League final that HE has gotten you to, you have to get another point
I suppose Chelsea fans are just looking forward to The Special One's return as we know how well he worked with Abromovich

For every Chelsea fan placing any hint of criticism on Rafa, there seem to be at least 2 Liverpool fans defending him to the heavens and back. It's ironic to think that only 3 years ago half of Anfield were calling for his head as you sat in 7th place.
4 points from those 2 games is a good return. If you read my response properly you'll notice that all I said is that it would have been ideal to clinch CL qualification tonight, then be able to play a weakened team against Villa, concentrating all our attention on the Europa League final. At no point did I say Rafa was a fat bastard for only getting 4 points from those 2 games.
My criticism relates to him taking off a goal scorer (Oscar) at 2-2 in the 85th minute and with 2 subs available, he brings on Benayoun, leaving Lampard and Ba on the bench. Benayoun?! What advantage is there in bringing on Benayoun over Lampard, who will contribute more defensively but is also more capable of scoring or creating a goal. There's nothing to say that either Lampard or Ba would have scored (hence I'm not blaming Rafa for the draw), but that substitution is deserving of criticism.

I'm not entirely sure why everyone was so shocked by Ade's good goal and assist last night. When he can manage to look past his ego and work hard for the team, there's a lot of talent there.Unfortunately for him, he's still living off that ridiculous season at Arsenal. He thought he was the best striker in the world after that. Ade needs a manager who'll be on his back constantly and getting him to work hard. But the money killed him really, he pretty much lost all motivation after that.

Really, really proud of this team. Lacking in quality in certain areas, but there's so much heart and belief. We're not going away quietly.
If Bale stays on this summer and Levy backs AVB with a couple of quality buys + hires a proper Sporting Director, then watch out.
Oh and Ade... feeling a vague annoyance at his performance would be putting it mildly.

Defoe not being brought on is the only real mistake made considering it was a game you needed to win.

Rafa is a negative manager though, I mean his teams always sit back and go for a 0-0 (Chelsea 8-0 Villa, Liverpool 5-0 Madrid, United 1-4 Liverpool) and his 8 trophies in 10 years along with major cup finals reached as well is appalling. He's definitely a joke figure, Rafa out, we don't want you here and all stuff like that. Booooo.

Nah, Defoe is normally useless in these sorts of games (his performance away to Man Utd was a rarity), and Chelsea's midfield were all over ours, bringing on Siggy & Clint gave us extra bodies in there, to turn it around as they tired.

Every club has their idiots. I genuinely believe those who wanted Rafa gone were in the minority. Most of the anger at the time was directed, rightfully so, at the idiot owners who didn't care about us as a club, only as a business that they were happy to let fall into debt and even worse.
Chelsea fans have bullied and abused Rafa from the start and despite reaching a cup final in a difficult competition, all but securing a top 3 finish and playing some exciting football they continue to deride him. He's leaving in 3 games time, why the hostility?
As someone tweeted yesterday:
Rafa Benitez, 8 trophies in 10 years - laughed at.
Harry Redknapp and Moyes, 1 trophy in 15 years - lauded.
It sums up the media agenda in this country.
