Woo hoo, we're the best team in the World again!

But really, we can put out a decent first XI if the manager shows some balls. Squad obviously lacks depth though.

How? Poland have failed to qualify and have nothing to play for anymore. Plus, while having a few quality players, they really haven't clicked as a team for a long time now, as mentioned earlier.

England will pass that test with relative ease I think.

Agreed - Poland are overrated because of their Dortmund contingent - been far more impressed by the *teams* of Montenegro & Ukraine over this campaign. Still, Lewa against Cahill, and Kuba & Piszczek overloading on Baines is more than enough to put the wind up most.

No Obraniak for Poland so much less set-piece threat too.

Great result last night but that front 4 with Gerrard and Lampard "holding" Neutral Laughing  v better opposition would be suicidal.

Every silver lining has a cloud and I would hate roy to think you can have those 2 as CM at the World Cup based on last night.

Welbeck should be the CF with Sturridge on the bench for now - he is a better striker of a ball but that's all he has over Welbeck and he is selfish + Welbeck is really proven for England now.

Pound for pound Poland are indeed a notorious loser nation. Lewa, Kuba etc. or not their squad is so poor for such a big country. And they used to be so good once with Smolarek etc.

England well done, cant wait how your hooligans hold up in Brazil ok

Sturridge is on another planet to Welbeck technically. Sturridge has been the best English forward in the premier league this calender year, the idea that we shouldn't give him a run in the team, especially considering how shit England have been during qualifying, is madness.

whatchoo talking about? this one was more crucial. if we'd lost last night we'd be missing the world cup. winning it means we're guaranteed at least playoff. and with Poland losing they got nothing to play for (not that that necessarily means we'll make it easy)

Having firepower up front could pull you out of any situation in most international games.

Having a CM that finds this trio and a CB that is Solid and can play out of the back we might improve.

I just always saw Poland as the harder game, maybe I am wrong in that. I don't necessarily think Montenegro is harder simply because they've been better in qualifying. Poland battered England in our first game and we got a jammy draw, we were jammy against Montenegro aswell but atleast we dominated the first half.

I also think Poland will be up for it, as if a country will take it easy when they have the chance to fuck up England's world cup plans.

Adrian Chiles inferring that all Polish fans are builders will have fired them up off the pitch at least.

Agree with Pierre, double pivot of Lampard / Gerrard is dangerous even though both have become less reckless tactically due to old age. Why Woy refuses to play Carrick in that position is very strange. Also Cleverleys injury was met with a pretty underwhelming reaction by most, but as far as water carriers go he's pretty useful.

Thanksgiving day here. Seen enough of Wilshere to say he is either carrying a injury that has not heeled and cannot commit himself properly to the team. Or he's really lost the plot.

Apparently Carrick in for Lampard tonight. And Smalling for suspended Walker. latter doesn't inspire huge confidence, but then again neither did Walker. Carrick sounds sensible 'cause Lampard was poor vs Montenegro.
