We would prob look better defensively if Cole was playing but Baines has just justified his inclusion !

We're a guaranteed bye into the next round for Germany you mean? Laughing exciting, world cup and England don't deserve to be in the same sentence based on the last few tournaments

Oh stop that! After today's win just a couple of "tune-ups" preferably against Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Liechtenstein...win by a score of 5-0 so that the pre WC hype gets cranked up a bit.

Two decent displays in 5 days. We all line up to give this team a kicking, so kudos to finally being able to say something positive.

Gave posession away cheaply enough times tonight and if we had failed to qualify he would have been largely to blame thanks to his performance at home to Ukraine.

His set pieces have been great though.

Welbeck's finishing was dire but he played well - even when he is having a mare in front of goal he brings a lot to the team.

Sturridge was gash and you can imagine Glenn's reaction had Welbeck done that airshot !

Glen Johnson and Micah Richards need to get fit sharpish - Walker/Smalling/Jones are just not good enough.

Credit to Jagielka/Cahill - we never used to keep clean sheets in games like Poland at Home and Ukraine away when Terry was playing but still we have some pundits rueing his absence Doh

Lewandowski looks great for Dortmund when they are on form (they would flatter most strikers) but he is not the man to make a difference or create something out of nothing - very overrated player.

Any striker who is big and not shit would look good for the big 2 in Germany - I have my doubts about mandzukic too.

Lewandowski is not the problem, Poland is, as discussed earlier. They haven't had a proper team for as long as I remember.

Welbeck was poor. His touch was fucking abysmal. Sturridge did fine.

he did have a great chance to give them the lead though, and blew it.

    --

Anyway, qualification cheers Never doubted it for a second Wink

in all seriousness though, two professional performances when it mattered. some of Hodgson's cautiousness in earlier fixtures, settling for draws, sure was depressing, but he put out attacking lineups and went for the wins. First half today in particular was as good as I've seen England for a while.
