Also played his part in getting sterling sent off by jumping in on Valencia after he was walking away. Seems to be a mouthy little chav.

    From Hodgson.

"I thought Wayne Rooney played very, very well and I think Ross Barkley had some good moments. I think he needs to learn when he can turn with the ball and when he has to keep the ball."

Barkley was way better than Rooney, whose only contribution was managing to tap it in before Lambert did.

Actually Wayne was the daily mails MOTM, I must have missed something.

Scholes brought up Man marking Pirlo with Danny Welbeck. Managers today don't like to man mark in this situation a 10 v 10 against Italy would give us better odds to win the game.

     ok

Times was way more rational, saying that the biggest outcome of the match was more pressure to drop Rooney. They liked Wilshere though  Crying or Very sad

Scholes also said this in the same interview:

“Right now I think the best we can hope for is a draw against Italy if we manage the heat, keep the ball and stop Mr Pirlo – we can beat Uruguay and Costa Rica.”

I disagree. England have a better chance of beating Italy than Uruguay. If England lose to Italy, I think they are as good as out.

Uruguay have a great front 2 but a weak midfield IMO. Gargano is their best midfielder FFS.

I've seen at least two articles today suggesting that Rooney "answered his critics" by scoring last night. A tap in that was more about the creators than the finishers..

Aside from that I don't remember him doing anything.

Well we know who Carragher will blame it on when we get KO'd. Apparently everyone is brilliant, apart from Roy. His description of Johnson is the best though.

Pretty pointless article - usually he's pretty honest as well on Sky so shame to see him talking nonsense about Johnson - he's a shite fullback.

A capable manager with an attacking mind would be able to get this squad to the quarters at least.

If Hodge decides not to start Sterling or Barkley then it would be completely baffling. We have nothing to lose.

Didn't Rooney kick a player once and got sent off? Can he be trusted? Sterling is 19 and mistimed a challenge on a c**t in a friendly match - so don't play our most exciting young player because of that? Great thinking there chinster.

We basically know that 3 of the front 4 will be Sturridge, Welbeck, and Rooney, for me the other position should be between Lallana and Chamberlain. With these players coming through though there will be huge pressure to drop Welbeck and Rooney if they play shit against Italy.
