Re: Premier League 28/29 December 2013
Suarez is high flying but he is yet to score against any top team if I'm not mistaken. No goals against Man Utd(cup), Arsenal, City, Chelsea. In truth it might simply be down to the fact that against top teams he is covered by good midfielders and defences. Unlike Aguero he doesn't have any other player who deflects attention away from him except Sturridge. He didn't get too many chances against either City or Chelsea today either so perhaps it is unfair to compare to Aguero.

Gotta say Saurez has been really damn good in these past two games. Should have have an assist for Sterlings off side goal and a penalty in each match. Really pushed both defences all the way who struggled with him all match.
Would have really liked Liverpool to have got those penalties and drawn the matches. Ah well

Re: Premier League 28/29 December 2013
Good win for Howard Webb that.
Fucking defies belief how he has such a good reputation in the game. To not give a penalty for a clear foul on Suarez is beyond me. Fucking ridiculous.
We played much better that half. Don't know what Rodgers was thinking throwing Smith on, we basically played with ten men from that point on - makes you appreciate just how much potential Sterling has when you see how raw and clearly not ready Smith is.
Thought Sterling was our best player. Suarez couldn't get into the game but it's difficult when you get manhandled and elbowed by Terry and Cahill. Good luck doing that in the World Cup with more capable referees.
To get 0 points from those 2 games is really disappointing. We deserved a point vs City, today I'd say we lost it in the first half with an abysmal display but deserved a point from the decisions we didn't get.
Title ambitions down the drain if we had any but 4th still very much alive with winnable games coming up and injuries hopefully coming back soon.

erm, no one ever said that. Spurs fans were the ones drinking from a bucket filled with their own whack-off. We've always been the 4th/5th best team in the league, just that the fixtures gave us a false position.

Re: Premier League 28/29 December 2013
Liverpool 2 points ahead of Spurs, not 3.
And you're a repetitive and compulsive liar Glenn. All Spurs fans were the ones saying there was no guarantee the team would be challenging given the number of new faces and the requirement for a gelling period at the very least. Simple digging up of old posts will prove this.
That All Liverpool fans got shirty because Eriksen and Willian chose Spurs over Liverpool is their own daddy issues to deal with. There's always bulimia.
So as 2013 comes to a close, let's have a big circle jerk!
Gareth Bale was worth 80 million, so Luis Suarez must be worth 200 million
Liverpool playing the best football in the league
5th in the table, 2 points ahead of Soldado Pen FC

At least we didn't embarrass ourselves by conceding 6 against City like some teams did from North London. We already settled who is better when we raped the mighty Spurs and cost AVB his job. Let's not be silly now.

I'm sure you can take solace from having not conceded six at City should you finish below some teams from North London at the end of the season.
FFS can someone explain to Ladyboy Lewis the concept of a 38 game season please?
You're playing the best you've done in 5 years, we're playing the worst, and yet the gap at the midpoint is 2 points. So put your willy away.

Re: Premier League 28/29 December 2013
At what point does Mata hand in a transfer request? Surely he wants to go to the World Cup, it's clear that Oscar is Mourinho's first choice number 10 now he's back from injury, and Mata isn't going to play unless it's in so called 'less important' games (of which there are few).
Reckon he could be the surprise mover in January, probably back to Spain.

a 38 game season where you play Man City and Chelsea away in the Christmas schedule. Nice for the Jews to crow at the first opportunity though. Who can even remember who beat who at whose ground by who many who's?
Have another guess. Obstruction inside the penalty area = penalty kick for the attacking team.
A Spurs fan telling lies? What a shock.

Re: Premier League 28/29 December 2013
Thought he played well in the City game but not sure you can attribute the penalty calls to good play or by really making the defences struggle based on those incidents.shazlx wrote:Gotta say Saurez has been really damn good in these past two games. This was the best I have seen Chelsea played and I thought they deserved their win for sure but they're not nearly as impressive in any other game. Gotta second Bernd about Mata. He has been pretty quiet considering what an important time this is with the World Cup coming up. I can't really see Mata suddenly becoming a Mou favourite so where should he go?
City,United, Arsenal, Liverpool all have playmakers
Arsenal could go for the Spanish upgrade(Mata over Carzola) but I doubt Wenger will go for that. I don't think he will go to Tottenham. Neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid have room for him. Milan and Inter don't have the money, are losing prestige and will probably miss out on Cl football next year. I'm not sure Roma or Fiorentina would prestigious enough. This leaves Juventus that now has Tevez-Llorente lined up in their
attack but they have also used a 4-3-3. Bayern won't have room for him and I doubt he would go to Dortmund. PSG might have room though.
Quite interesting that after two pretty good seasons he is suddenly left with few options.

Well based on the fact that we actually managed to compete in the City game and not look like a complete waste of space and the fact that we destroyed you on your own patch I'm fairly confident we will finish above you. We have 3 key players missing whilst you have a lovely brand new squad at your disposal. Fair play, you managed to beat a Southampton team that have given up and a piss poor Stoke team, I'm sure Sherwood is king and all that.
We've been above you all season despite the fact that you have a much better squad, we made you look absolute turd without Gerrard, Sturridge and Enrique and you have a clown with no tactical sense whatsoever as manager for the second half of the season.
We'll see who's laughing come May

We've all now played every other team once. Liverpool have had to play a lot of the 'big guns' away. But then Liverpool have not had to deal with a midweek European schedule either.
You're the one telling us our season is in ruins and oh look, don't they deserve it after the summer. So you tell me, just how good a season are Liverpool having if you're only 2 points ahead of us and Man United?
