who would have guess that we would have a all Spanish final with atletico in it, a few years ago.

both teams deserve to be there, but obviously i want Atletico to win, if madrid win i don't care because i would rather them win than bayern.

no team can now challenge our position as the dominant team of this era of football.

Come on atletico you can do it

I've nothing against Madrid, but almost all neutrals will be supporting Atletico for obvious reasons. Aupa Atleti!

It's a shame that Miranda and Filipe Luís will not be called up for the World Cup. They are easily the best brazilian defender and left back this season. Not to mention Diego Costa, who is light years ahead any other brazilian striker.

Why aren't Miranda and Filipe considered? Can't believe Marcelo would go ahead of Filipe.

Scolari call ups are based more on what players did playing for the national squad in the past than their actual form at their clubs. Miranda was called up once and Filipe was called up for the last time in the Confed Cup. Miranda has better chances than Filipe because just three defenders secured their places in the squad (Thiago Silva, David Luiz and Dante). The fourth spot is still open.
Maxwell played well in the last friendlies and Scolari likes him. Marcelo is his first choice.

Miranda was successful in Brazil. He won the 2009 Confed Cup and almost was called up for the 2010 WC. Filipe and Diego Costa were totally unknown when they left Brazil.

According to Guardian, QPR had the 7th highest wage bill in England last season. 14 EPL clubs had a higher wage bill than Atleti. Really impressive.

Yeah, but it shouldn't really be compared at the moment - Dortmund already had serious success in recent years, so they had to give a new contracts to many of their leading players (except to the ones who left). So not surprising that their wages are inflated.

It would be more interesting to compare wages of current Atletico and Dortmund from 3 years ago.

For the first time in a long long time Atletico will not be obliged to sell just because a big offer comes in.

I think Diego Costa may well go but Cerezo has a good record of bringing in replacements for outgoing strikers (Aguero, Forlan, Falcao, Diego Costa, etc...) And if Costa does leave it will means they will probably get Courtois on a permanent deal.

Other than that I can't imagine anyone else important leaving. Maybe Turan. Maybe Filipe Luis. But those guys can be replaced.

The biggest loss would be Simeone, if he decided to move on.

Sounds like Diego Costa will not make the CL Final. After the game it was made out be not that bad but just now the reports are saying he has almost zero chance and that he might be out of the World Cup as well.

Somehow Atletico always manage to roll with the punches. They did in the Barcelona games but that might be down to Barca being crap.
