You need luck to do well in football so I'm not saying it's just down to luck but I find it interesting that you think you are a better team than us - your play hasn't shown that, your performance against us certainly didn't show that and you've had a fully fit attack all season whereas we've been without Sturridge and Lallana for large parts of the season.

We have only really started to play football from mid December yet are a mere 2 points behind you. Logic would suggest that we will finish above you.

Two. TWO Liverpool fans are in bullish mode again.

A few wins and ALL Liverpool fans start doing the helicopter. Pathetic.

Unbeaten in 12 in all comps, 3 away wins and clean sheets on the bounce, excellent football being played, at least 3 new signings coming good and Sturridge nearing return. Yes I think we are entitled to feel a bit happy after watching the turd of September-December.

Unlike angry Newcastle fans, we actually want our team to do well. But you get your joy by blaming Pardew then when he goes and you turn to absolute shit while Palace win every game, you find another scapegoat. Fun <Ale>

Wooo woop. 2-0. Carroll has scored as many goals at home in 2 years at West Ham, as he did through 5 years at Newcastle.

We spend over £100m a year on a football team and it makes us win some games, i'm going to wave my willy at people. Pathetic. <Ale>

btw Carver isn't close to matching some of the runs we went on with Pardew yet, though i'm sure he will given the chance.

Holy moly. Firstly I said spine, not team. Clear difference. Secondly, "our play": just how much have you actually seen beyond MOTD highlights? Thirdly, our performance against you was in September. It is now January, and it is weird that should have any bearing given how much we have changed since then. That was also somewhat of an anomaly for Liverpool as opposed to the norm in terms of performance.

You may well finish above us. But its amusing how easily you will find excuses as to why you arent ahead of us at the moment, alongside an unwavering faith that a returning Sturridge will solve all of your problems. It is rarely ever as clear cut as that.

Fair play - great Arsenal performance and deserved winners. City looked pretty shit, like they weren't really interested.

Bit shit that every single team in the race for top 4 won this weekend. Ah well.

As Giroud said after the game they weren't trying to play just "their" style but this isn't the first time Wenger realizes not to be so naive but I doubt it will change his fundamental belief because he never seems to draw any lessons when more progressive tactics work for him. Still a great victory for them. Carzola was a beast today and Sanchez with one of those games of poor decision making. Rosicky did well when he came on but I don't get why Walcott didn't get some time instead of Giroud because they could have exploited all of that space City left behind.
