HT:3-0. we kept pounding that Spurs pussy. FFS what a match from us, if only we could do this every week. Though many people think its mainly Spurs who are shockingly bad. f**k this shock could be felt in LA.

Southampton have got mostly bottom half clubs in their remaining fixtures. could still be in it if they can get back their early season consistency. but they do lack a reliable goalscorer (what ever happened to that Italian that Fey kept jacking off over?)

Everton are the new Villa, too good to get in a relegation battle but too shit to challenge the top 4 or win a cup. It must be pretty boring.

Re: Premier League 14-16 March 2015
It's not like I am very optimistic about our chances to make progress with Martinez, but for now it's just 1st season where we dropped significantly.
And last season we had our best points tally in Premier League history and were main competitors for CL spots. So it's quite early for "boring", "mid table obscurity", etc...

Re: Premier League 14-16 March 2015
Finally got around to watching the Spurs game, was mixing it up in SXSW with them crazy gun slinging Texans.
Wish I hadn't bothered. Poch's kids got slaughtered. Inconsistency to be expected I suppose when you're fielding the youngest and most inexperienced side in the Premier League. Still, as 'Spursy' as this one felt, we have proven this year to be more capable in the 'big' games (Chelsea, Arsenal, Southampton, Liverpool away - despite losing) than in recent seasons, so progression is undeniabe.
Was amusing seeing all the United fans leaving early to make their flights home, getting out sung by 2,000 Spurs fans despite being 3-0 up at home. Bang average plastic support. Right up Fey's street.
Liverpool V United will be a very interesting game now given it looks like United have remembered how to play football. Di Maria's suspension appears to have been a blessing in disguise - superbly talented player but still looks lost at Old Trafford. Van Gaal was forced to play a more balanced team with Mata and Herrera supporting Rooney, and it worked exceptionally well. As poorly as we played, they utterly bossed the midfield.
As for Spurs, as long as Poch can hold onto all our assets, we should be able to ship out some of the dead wood in the summer and start next season with a more settled squad that aligns with Poch's requirements. Currently our depth is weak and this was our 45th game of the season, the players can't keep up the intensity. In this case, the 500 billion United have been able to spend along with their lack of European competition was a bridge too far.

Big game for us tonight - if we fail to win we'll probably have to get at least 4 points from United and Arsenal.

I hope Sterling isn't played as a wing-back again. He isn't suited to it at all.

I'm actually very tempted to dial 999 here because what we are witnessing here is rape guys and it's threatening to get even more brutal.
Mignolet and have been our only good players. So I would put Markovic on for Lallana and move Sterling to the middle, Markovic would slot in at RWB. That should help.
Also, Gomis I remember him from his time at Lyon, him and Lisandro Lopez used to rip teams apart.

Couldnt hear the Spurs fans at all on my teletext screen. Nontheless United away-support is very good this season. It seems we lost a lot of deadweight supporters recently with the lack of succes.
Would take a point at Anfield though next week.

Re: Premier League 14-16 March 2015
Christ, how did Liverpool get away with that? An absolute mugging. Henderson had no idea what was happening for the goal. To be fair though Jeff, you tend to make your own luck and Liverpool have learned to defend and attack with intelligence when it matters. Amazing run they are on.
Still, Rodgers and his one hand in pocket / one arm in the air "celebration" is the most cringeing thing on telly right now. I do wish he would stop it. He has almost certainly been testing it out infront of the mirror at home.
Reminder Brendan: You're a manager, not a player. You dont get to trademark your reaction to every goal for the next version of FiFA you silly egotistical c**t. Just stop it now.

Re: Premier League 14-16 March 2015
We were poor in the first half but played well in the second and deserved the win in the end IMO.
Defensively Can had a bit of a shocker but it didn't matter because Mignolet, Sakho and Skrtel were magnificent. I love how much stick Sakho gets from the media for some reason but he's been one of our players of the season - great positionally and first to the ball every time. Skrtel has improved so much as well, he's probably the best centre back in the league other than Terry right now.
Henderson and Allen, particularly Henderson have really stepped up and gone from good but largely ineffective players to players that can dictate a game now - Henderson's goal was lucky but he never even used to try and get into those positions.
If I was to have a concern it's the attack - Sterling is useless as a wing back. I'm glad Brendan changed it and got him further up in the second half. Coutinho found it tough and Sturridge is still no way near match fit. Lallana could be doing more at times. It's a shame Ibe got injured as he looked like the perfect player for our current system. What may stop us from getting too 4 is the likes of Markovic, Balotelli and Lambert - players not quite good enough quality to change games from the bench.
If Rodgers wants to get the top 4 then he needs to use Gerrard sensibly from now until the end of the season - he was great when he came on last night but shouldn't be starting most games now - he takes away from Henderson and Allen and doesn't have the legs for the defensive side of his position now.
Things are looking very good though - if you'd had told me in November we'd be 4 points behind second and in the FA Cup quarters I'd have called you a silly idiot. Our run in 2015 has been title winning form - teams find it difficult to score past us and at times we've found that cutting edge that teams feared last season.
Next two games are crucial - United at home, Arsenal away. Top 4 will be decided in these matches.
