Id have him back but if Boro pays the 14m euros and he wants to play for them then there isnt much we can do. I dont think we should have let him go if we didnt sign anyone as cover which in the end we didnt ...
S.Ramos ....... Cannavaro ....... Woodgate ........ Tosser
Would have been an excellent back line

I was one of those people laughing at playing Heinze in midfield, it's just like playing Alan Smith there to me, he's a defender and may be slightly better but it will take at least 8 games to find his feet.
O'shea has been brought up playing Defence and midfield (he's just not consistant and does not have the intensity to play there)
Fletcher has all the positional sense and workrate but lacks strength and confidence
So i can see why people suggest Heinze but i don't think another change will do us any good at all

It's a ridiculous idea for sure. Just like whoever thought smith could.
many things wrong with it, but forget all that and just go on what he is from face value. slow small gives away lots of free kicks, poor distribution, so hes good at tackling most of the time..... ok he will be a wc dm then

It's slightly different than suggesting Smith play there. Smith was a striker... Heinze has actually played a defensive role before.
It's like me saying Carragher wouldn't make a better defensive midfielder than Bellamy when he obviously would.
Poor distribution? Heinze's passing has always been decent - as it was at the world cup. He doesn't have to have great distribution anyways. Just pass it over 5 yards to a better player.

Yes but Smith has played in midfield before and was combative and aggressive hwich i think was the reasoning for it
Carragher looks poor against any descent opposition in midfield because his ability on the ball and pace is not the best something i would also say for Heinze
then again people moaned at Fletch because 'he only plays 5 yard balls sideways and backwards'

No it hasnt, it has always been on the whole poor. If it is only 5 yard passes, then anyone can do it then yeah? what neville as dm next.
smith had done it before also, that clown platt said he was a great dm.
It is a ridiculous idea

Yes. Fair enough. I could post a reasonable arguement against what you've both said, but I'm getting that strong, overwhelming sense of Deja Vu, so let's just leave it at that.
Good luck with your game tonight.
