Anyway, it's about bloody time. He's an immense player and exactly the type of midfielder we need. Nice to see Jenas is still in there ahead of Nolan aswell.

Carrick now being the creative one in the middle for England supposedly, has so far not done much to hold his position in the side. Parker will give more bite and is playing better. It would be a simple choice. I bet McClaren goes for Carrick and Lampard because he needs Downing to get more service from the middle and Carrick does this better...

I read somewhere McClaren was concidering playing an extra defender in the middle........4-5-1.........In this case the real formation turns out to be 5-4-1.......Ultra defensive..

Ballack..............If he played with an extra defender in midfield and then drops one from the defence that would still really be 4-4-2......
If he puts King there, it is really like going ultra defensive in the middle. I'm not saying he does not do a bad job, but at least with Parker who is a natural midfielder and looks better getting forward......

But now If he tried out a real 3-5-2 that would be great..............

IF Rooney has a good game against Newcastle and looks himself again then I would swap him for Lampard or Johnson. Think it would be good for England if Crouch and Rooney strike up a partnership....
