I dont think we are playing up to our potential , we have played well in 1 or 2 matches but not great in others.
We need to do the fixture thing in detail like who has played who and where was that team expected to finish this season.

here's a frightening proposition for you....

just maybe the formation fergie stumbled upon early in the season without rooney and with giggs, ronaldo and saha all so prominent is more beneficial to the team than having rooney in the side....

    you just never know Wink

my main gripe about united is that with their midfield (and it's just my opinion because i don't particulary rate any of scholes, carrick or fletcher) the full potential of your forwards is not in danger of being realised anytime soon which is why im saying you are playing close to your current optimal level

but that formation also didn't have Scholes in it and i think Scholes is still Man Utds best CM player.

out of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd i think Man Utd have the weakest midfield.

but a inform Rooney and fit Giggs or Park would greatly improve Man Utds current peformances in the League and Champions League, in my opinion.

Ive had three years of him proving me right... lets hope he continues to this season eh owen Smile... maybe it's not his fault that his partners in the centre have been so dire for the past 3 years however i much prefer to blame him Wink

@ batman... correct me if im wrong but weren't rooney, giggs and park all playing in the CL for most of last season for you... obviously different seasons and the team has improved but until i see it im not going to be believing it... the best i have seen united play for years was at the start of this season. maybe this is just because of the easy fixture schedules or just maybe it is because the space rooney normally occupies is better used by giggs, ronaldo and saha... saha certainly looks a more rounded striker this season than rooney has ever been.

or maybe im talking total rubbish... ill let you decide...

your right about the CL but Scholes and Rooney missed some games because of Red cards. so in some games our CM was O'Shea and Smith Doh

Ronaldo looks a better play now compared to last season.

i have been of the opinion that Giggs is past it, for the last 3-4 seasons and we should replace him. but from dec 2005 to now, Giggs has been playing some excellent football.

But you said at the start of the season cotr, and against watford we were not great. and neither were we v tottenham. so just charlton without them we played great.
so the argument is based on one game cotr?

@batman we did ok last year with o shea as dm, smith was the ultimate problem

O'Shea was pretty good for about 4 months of last season but has been shocking so far.

    Fixtures:
    1. Liverpool - too damn inconsistent
    2. Arsenal - still look like conceding goals
    3. Man U - capable of having off days but generally sound
    4. Chelsea - still the hardest team to beat

    Squad:
    1. Chelsea
    2. Liverpool
    3. Man U
    4. Arsenal
Purely in terms of strength in depth, I probably rate Man U's first 11 as the strongest in the league...

    Manager:
    1. Fergie
    2. Benitez
    3. Mourinho
    4. Wenger

    Playing to their potential:
    1. Chelsea - don't see them getting much better TBH, though I'd be happy if they proved me wrong because they're still a bit dull for my taste
    2. Man U - started strongly, still have issue to iron out in midfield but have the strongest attack
    3. Arsenal - dodgy start, have recovered quickly and look to be comfortable with their playing style. Still have a couple more gears to find.
    4. Liverpool - nowhere near a settled first 11, a fair few players still to find their best form, a few more to bed in and find their best position

people seem to be getting confused by what i meant from Fixtures:

what i wanted to know was who in your opinion has had the easiest games/fixtures so far in the league and who the hardest.

e.g. Man Utd have played Fulham, Spurs, Arsenal, etc......
