Liverpool Vs Arsenal Empty Liverpool Vs Arsenal

Post by Luis Tue Oct 23, 2007 11:56 am

tis the clash if the Titans!

Both teams are unbeaten, Arsenal are top of the table and are playing pretty good football, Liverpool are struggling a bit but are still unbeaten and the win over Everton will install confidence into the players.

Arsenal generally don't do that wonderful at Anfield in the league, last season this game ended 4-1 to Liverpool if I remember correctly.

I think it will be a good, open game with a few goals, I'm more confident about this than I was about Everton for some reason, but I'm not going to predict the score yet!!

How do people see the game going?

    1-1.

Fabregas (og) and Adeboyor for Arsenal after a Gerrard back pass gone wrong.

It will be interesting to see if he has the same understanding with Adebayor that he had with Henry. Very Happy

We rarely play well at Anfield in the league. If we get a result we will probably need luck on our side. Being a bit pessimistic I think Liverpool will win 2-1, but hopefully we can get at least a draw.

0-0 or 0-1 to Arsenal is my guess. Another classic top 4 encounter.

    2-1 to Le'Arse.

    Rosicky to score

Adebayor to make Hyypia/Carragher his bitch,

Fabragas to run rings round Gerrard for 90 mins, who will then score a late screamer as a consolation - earning him an 8/10 rating and a description that "He drove Liverpool back into the game".

    1-1

Arsenal to take an early lead through Adebayor. Rafa to sub Gerrard on 70 minutes, Liverpool boss the last 20 minutes in midfield and Kuyt gets the equaliser around 5 minutes from time.

I think your readng too much into the media hype - yeah that's right, an Arsenal fan telling people not to believe the hype. We haven't really been playing that well recently and we're actually grinding out these results with some moments of magic for the goals and highlights shows.

For all the supposed 'bossing' that he did, how many chances did he actually create?

If by bossing you mean playing at a high intensity and making tackles/fouls, then yes he did boss the game. However if you mean bossing the midfield to be like Kaka in the 1st half of the 2005 CL final (where they're creating endless chances for the strikers and making everyone else look very average), he wasn't close to 'bossing' the midfield.

Oops... I forgot, this is Gerrard. There is an unwritten law amongst Liverpool fans that you cannot criticise Gerrard under any circumstances. Ale

I sense someone is getting riled up.

For all his supposed 'bossing', you didn't exactly win the game, did you?

First half Gerrard was playing as a CM and was getting pissed all over by Kaka. No offence but Milan had it so easy that it looked like it could end up 5/6-0. Rafa brings on a CM who can actually defend at half time (i.e. Hamann), who actually stopped Kaka and allowed Liverpool to get on the front foot. Gerrard went into a free role and suddenly you were laughing. Good first goal, great strike for the second goal and a clever dive for the third. Gerrard will take most MOTM awards because he scored one and "assisted" another, but without Hamann on the field, Kaka was having a wonderful game.

SP what you are really doing here is criticising rafa for not starting with the right tactics to stop kaka

when he changed the formation to stop kaka at halftime it worked and gerrard then was the major contributor to one of the greatest comebacks in football history

so you are right. it was all rafa's fault in the first half for getting outwitted by ancellotti

So a dive outside the box = a penalty + a red card (2 game changing decisions).

The 2nd pen is fair enough, but you may not have got it had you not got the first one (silly logic I know, but you're saying that we may not have drawn had we not got the Malouda 'pen').

The 2 Everton pens were also pens too.

As for the bold comment, I can give you 100 examples last year of moments where we should've scored. Ale
