City strikers

A few times last season Manchester City fans thought their side was missing something up front. They could not score enough goals, all the strikers went long spells without finding the back of the net.

With Andy Cole, their best finisher last term with nine goals, now at Portsmouth, Stuart Pearce was desperate to find a new target man.

Georgios Samaras, signed towards the end of last season, started well but ultimately netted four times in 12 appearances (10 starts).

The boss decided to go shopping abroad once again and this time came back with the ex-Italian international Bernardo Corradi, another big, strong player, good in the air but with a scoring record that was anything but impressive.

I have only seen City play once and ie. against Arsenal and in that match he worked quite hard.

He is a hrad working dedicated player, when he is on form he is unstoppable. He rattled many club's defence in italy. He will take some time getting used to the english style, but once he gets used to it, i think he could do well with city. Afterall he did provide an assist against everton (i think it was) to earn them a 1-1 draw

ok , havent seen enough of him to make a judgement , 43 goals in 170 odd matches(according to above stats) is like goal in every 4 and a half match. Not enough in my eyes.

He assists more than he scores, he fights to get the ball. He probably runs more than most forwards nowadays.

Also, his record (rounded off) is 1 in 3 in some very average (at the time) Serie A sides.

He and Samaras will be a good partnership.

I wouldn't say there is much pace up there though Obipso.

We will probably play Vassell up with Big Sam when he is fit and Corradi will be used as cover. Although he hasnt scored he has looked quite good, setting up the goal at Everton, and Samaras' goals V West ham and Chesterfield. For £1.5m i think he is a decent signing, Pearce didnt buy him to get 15-20 goals a season, he is a target man who upsets defences and works hard for the team, more of a Kevin Davies than a poor Heskey imo.

Yes it is mate, can only pop on every so often at the mo but might be able ot come online for a few hours tomorrow night.
