Ballacks right, it was Bergkamp. Now I don't know - I'd probably say Riquelme though to be honest.

Of the young talents named if we're purely talking footballing brain then:

Ronaldo, Rooney, Cesc, RVP, Robinho, Schweinsteiger, Iniesta, VDV,

    Cesc>Iniesta>Rooney>Schweinsteiger>VDV>Ronaldo>Robinho IMO

And in response to the young players with a brain. The only one i can think of atm is Diego. He is aware of EVERYTHING.

    Michael Ballack?

don't forget Huntelaar, he might not be 'well profiled' but he has the ability to be one of the deadliest strikers of his generation.

Huntelaar doesnt have a footballing brain though does he. Now i know your practically in love with him but he is not an intelligent player in terms of footballing. Yes, he makes good runs, Yes, he scores good goals, but when a player of such quality like Bergkamp got the ball he could see things that hadnt even emerged.

Tell me what constitutes to have a good footballing brain, isit playing in England or Spain?

Plus Laudrup is up there with Bergkamp.

Yes i have seen him play!! Im not calling him an idiot!! Get that into your skull! Im just saying in comparison of football intelligence he is no way near the others at the top!! Gudjohnsen is a much more intelligent player than Ronaldinho. Doesnt mean hes any better, or any worse... Riquelme is very intelligent as well. Pirlo as Pirlo already said (my god that sounds weird) is also a very intelligent player. Kaka is also, Diego is one more. Van Der Vaart. Van Persie is as well!!

And your last comment is irrelavent about playing in a country affecting a footballing brain. Different players suit different leagues, and different styles.

Sneijder is intelligent. But once more is not in the same class as the others!! It is clear to see the line of intelligence. Sneijder is "a Lampard" Sorry if thats insulted anyone. He isnt the most intelligent but is good at shooting and long passes. He hits it hard, and hits it true. Thats it. Shame he cant see the goal being so short

That's the problem with the EPL, you could be utterly shit on the ball but as long as you graft your way through the games the fans would appreciate it. Riquelme would get the kicking of a lifetime from defenders in the EPL.

Not entirely true. For example at Newcastle there is a chap called Peter "Davros" Ramage, he's AWFUL, unbelievably bad, on the ball... but he is a tryer. People still think he's shit. Graft isn't enough for the EPL, and neither is just being good on the ball(see Laurent Robert). ok
