Scholes has a very good footballing brain not the best though.

Cesc etc, have no rights to be mentioned with Roman.

Scholes is a great shout Bilal, very intelligent player, see's the balls others can't.

Took nearly 30 posts for the little genius to even be mentioned. Neutral

    Riquelme is the winner though.

Of the new crop - Rooney, Cesc and Messi.

Makelele, if he didn't have a good footballing brain then he would be like Robbie Savage.

i think Deco and Xabi Alonso have good footballing brains.

another young player, Sergio Aguero. it was clever of him to score a goal with his hand.

If I was doing the best in the Premier league it would be between Makelele, Scholes and Alonso.

I'm with Kimbo on Riquelme - he's very strong though, very difficult to push off the ball. ok

Scholes would be up there, and a long time English contender, Teddy Sheringham.

I also think Stephen Appiah is underrated in this area.

Deco is also a worthy shout, as is Esteban Cambiasso.

Good footballing brains mean people who read the game very well etc.
Well if we are doing defenders then probably
    Rio , Nesta etc.
