    I just read that he's been out two weeks with a "dead leg".

    What the heck is a dead leg?

    Couldn't even find it on Wikipedia.

    In school a dead leg was always when your mate would punch you in the leg and it'd go numb-ish for a while.

    I'm assuming it's just a more exaggerated version of that... though from a clash on the pitch, not being punched in the leg.

    Well, it's good to know this isn't some new terminology to describe Woodgate's unbelievable injury rate. If he keeps getting injured like this, they might just name an injury after him, kind of like Lou Gehrig disease, named after the baseball player.

    I've suffered a dead leg. Basically the Muscles seize up and stiffen, and you can't bend your knee for a few days (Mine lasted 3.)

    Painful without being painful... just very awkward.
