Oh, the irony. Newcastle fans boycott the match, and their team wins. Maybe they should do that more often, their team is probably distracted by the large crowd.

No. Fatty earns over 500k from the club every year and he hasn't put 1 penny into it. I want him gone.

If i was a season ticket holder i probably would go back though. Erm Hopefully he'll get alot of chanting in the game against Charlton. ok

Apparently Dyer was excellent when he came on for 30 mins, and there was another bit of theatre from Hypno-eyes.

    Watched the game on t'internet.

Terry and Boulahrouz were excellent. Absolutely excellent.

Great performance from Robben too, whose started to show some real form in the last couple of games.

    Ratings:

    Hilario 7
    Geremi 7
    Boulahrouz 8
    Terry 8
    A.Cole 7
    Essien 7
    Makelele 7
    Ballack 7
    J.Cole 7
    Kalou 7
    Robben 8

    SUBS:
    Lampard 6
    Wright-Phillips 6
    Drogba 6

Blatant penalty with the foul on Robben too (a penalty at all levels). He really just does not get many pens/FK's anymore.

    @ S4P

Of course Boulahrouz was excellent, he (and Vidic) both set the standard of how to be UNIT ..

He should start more games for Chelsea as CB or .. RB (as long as he plays)

That's it, people have got to stop hi-jacking it for their own evil purposes.

Anyone see The Real UNIT's©️ pass to set-up Defoe's 2nd yesterday?

He always plays RB (and sometimes CB), during games where Jose feels the winger will trouble us, or it will be a physical game. Against teams like Portsmouth, where we needed full-backs to bomb forward and put crosses in, he's likely to get rested <Ale>
He'll play more than 75-80% of games this season, and he's looked very impressive in both RB and CB (the only negative being that he doesn't get forward playing RB) ok

Kalou was also very impressive last night. Set up Joe Cole's goal with a very clever bit of skill <Ale>

After grabbing a goal on his first start, Giuseppe Rossi is aiming to keep his place for Newcastle ahead of Saturday's clash with Charlton.
The on-loan Manchester United striker scored in Toon's 3-0 Carling Cup win over Portsmouth last night and told Newcastle World TV: "The conditions ruined the game but we got our goals, and from a personal point of view, it was great to get on the scoresheet.
"It was a great performance from the team because it was a tough game.
"Because of the conditions, as a striker you had to bide your time and wait for the right opportunities.
"We had to counter attack on their defenders mistakes, and I think we did a good job.
"I want to keep playing well, and hopefully I will get another chance against Charlton."
