Corini wants to play on
Palermo captain Eugenio Corini has postponed talk of retirement at the end of the season. “I want to play on,” he maintained.
The veteran, born in July 1970, has less than a year left to run on his present deal and there has been talk that this could be his last season as a professional.
But Corini, who joined the Rosanero in the summer of 2003 from Chievo, wants to continue his Sicilian dream.
“I’m very happy in Palermo,” he stated on Monday. “I want to keep playing in the Rosanero shirt for a bit longer.
“I’m in good shape physically and I think I will continue on being a player. I am not thinking of a future as a director just yet…”
The former Under-21 international, amazingly never capped at full level, started his career at Brescia back in 1986.
He joined Juventus in 1990 before moves to Sampdoria, Napoli, Verona and then Chievo in October 1998.
