if Edwards had not died, would he really be in this list? just because people say he would of been quality does that mean he would have been.

i dont think gazza fufilled his potential either

with edwards if he survied we might have not won the world cup
because he played left back ( among many other postions) so he might of been captain instead of bobby

bobby might have played centre back? or not att all, who knows

what if francis jeffers had died when he made his 10 million pound move to arsenal. i think he'd be in the best 50 england players of all time.

Just watch Heskey season 2000/2001 and season 2001/2002 and you'll understand.He was incredible with Babbel,Owen,Gerrard and mcAllister.

Frank Lebouef is the best French player ever.

Tom Finney (one of the quickest wingers ever apparently)

Bobby Charlton (apparently had Beckenbaur in his pocket whilst on the field in the 1970 WC match)

Gordon Banks (one of the best goalkeepers ever)

Alan Shearer (underrated for England imo, maybe because he didn't win anything, but was, imo, the best striker of his age)

Stanley Matthews (great player apparently who played on till he was 50)

Tigana,Giresse,Fernandez and Platini were all good enough for England,beleive me.

the list of the best french players ever is endless...

Laurent Blanc was called "the president"...And Dessailly "the rock" so you can imagine that they were highly rated in France!

Use to watch him on TV if that counts. Good player but not in the same league as the others.....

Keegan was the only English player to win the Ballon d'Or twice, and in a row ! Thats gotta count for something.

At that time there was players just as good as him in England. It was only because he went to Europe Hamburg that he got all the recognition...............
