John Terry's Sending off. Empty John Terry's Sending off.

Post by Deluded F*ck™ Mon Nov 06, 2006 1:41 pm

Just been browsing through the Spurs forum - and some fans on there are suggesting that Foul & Abusive language (possibly even racial) was aimed at Ledley King. Consider...

*Terry walked without complaining - he normally bitches at every decision unless he knows he's 100% guilty. Could he have said a remark in the heat of the moment, that he now regrets?

*King lost his cool! King is possibly the most mild-mannered footballer in the world. (6 yellows & 0 red cards in 179 games - great for a Defender.)

*Zokora, Chimbonda & Assou-Ekotto wanted to tear Terry Limb from limb at one point.

*Drogba & Makalele are also well known for being at the forefront of the Chelsea protest/intimadation gang alongside Terry, and both never went up in the referee's face. Drogba tried to restrain Zokora, Zokora then said something to Drogba, and then Drogba let him go, and the Essien had a conversation with them both. That's rather odd, is it not?
    -------------------------------------------------------------

Now I want to assure everyone that I'm not branding Terry a racist. John Terry & Ledley King go back a long way, they played together on the same South-East London team (Senrab) at Schoolboy level. He is furthermore the captain of the national team, and it would be a great shame if this actually did occur. I'm no fan of his as a player, but I for one, am trying to believe that it wasn't a racial remark.

He's also a media favourite, so something like this could be glossed over.

    Thoughts?

The bit about them being school friends, was what made it all the more shocking when the incident happened.

Surely if Mourinhio knew this, he would just shut up about the issue though.

Do not buy it TS no matter how mad Terry got I cannot believe he made a racial slur unless he grew up in a family that were racist and was surrounded by it growing up. Maybe he called him a fucking bastard or something that would be enough to piss off anyone that has known the other person since a kid.....If he said anything like this and it can be backed up by the ref and players then the FA should throw the book at him.

There was a story of his brother calling Sven a "ni***r lover" for selecting players like King & Judas Campbell.

I don't think it's true myself - I just wanted to see what everyone else thought.

To be honest his sending off really doesn't matter anymore, because its not going to have any impact on the following premiership games.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday. Terry turned and walked way instantly but Poll had his eyes on him almost the whole time from the incident to when he brandished the card.

It was almost as if he was debating it, then in a delayed reaction he brought out the yellow card, also the reactions of Chimbonda and Zakora were quite intense for some regular abuse.

Hard to imagine them react like that if King was called a fucking bastard.

John Terry is not a racist. Look at all the black players in the Chelsea team, it would be very hard for him to be racist.

I think whatever Terry said, he should've kept his cool, but Chimbonda and co shouldn't have gone following him up the pitch pushing him in the back.

I never said he was, i.e: "He's no Lee Bowyer."

However it could be possible that he said something in the heat of the moment, who knows?

Why is it that only the black Spurs players immediately went after him?

I know, I was just making a point. Ale

I think they were the ones who went to him because they were the closest to him. I don't think for one second he did make a racist remark and if he did then it should have been a straight red and a 6 game suspension (although god know's how Poll would've heard it).

Maybe it was said in the heat of the moment but I doubt it. I think he clearly said something, but maybe it was just some kind of other insult.

I think Mourinho should keep quiet about it, but I can kind of see his point.

Poll had another nightmare game Laughing

Although I don't like to predict the outcome of games, I have to say that in my opinion, if Drogba's goal stands and it becomes 0-2, the game is over. But it's not and we have to live with it.

Spurs should've made it 2-1 before half time when the imbecile Ferreira got lost in a dream world. Rolling Eyes

Deserved win for Spurs, but I just think Poll's stupid moment (and it's not the first of his career) cost Chelsea the 3 points yesterday.

I cant believe Poll is still refereeing in the premiership, especially after his world cup blunder, are the FA too soft when it comes to referees? after all football fans and players deserve the best refereeing, and the likes of Poll and Rennie even Mike Riley at times aren't good enough
