just goes to show how good he is and how high the bar is set for him, as for kaka dinho needs to be atg his worst for him to even measure up.

Was he offside though? I saw the highlights on Spanish TV (am in Madrid) and the studio commentators seemed to be debating that though as I don't speak Spanish I'm only guessing.

No he was on side, it is just that Fuentes (I think) didn't react to his run and raises his hand to rectify the situation..

Cygan was the one that reacted, eventhough he was further away than Fuentes. He didn't manage to close him down though (understandable since Ronaldinho was already airborne and barging into him would probably have resulted in a penalty)

Great goal by Rivaldo, but I think Ronaldinho's was even better since he had to turn before shooting, and from a tighter angle..
The funny thing is that Valdés told the press that Barbosa should cheer up since he had already suffered from these goals in training
But to do it in a real match.. brilliant!!

Re: See that Ronaldinho goal
Yeah, goal of the season so far in La Liga. It's too bad that Barca had to rely on yet another fake penalty to go ahead in the score. It looks like Mourinho was right about Gudjonssen after all. Deco has taught him well.

ooooohhh those grapes are sooooo soooouuuuurrrrrrr !!
It was a penalty.. Cygan held Gudjohnsen when he turned him.. And in any case, it was just a matter of time, since we were totally dominating Villarreal.
And as for the Mourinho comment, what has Deco and Gudjohnsen in common?? Well, they have both been managed by Mourinho for quite a long time.. so he can fuck off...

Re: See that Ronaldinho goal
Fantastic goal.
But that does not belittle kaka, who had a world class second half against Messina yesterday... hit the woodwork again with a awesome run, and another brilliant run and pass was wasted by Inzaghi's finish. Kaka is excellent, and single-handedly keeping Milan afloat.

Yes I was pleased to see our old boy Cygan's contribution to the evening. Took years at Arsenal to get him to that level. Such a relief to see him turn out for the opposing team rather than your own back four.

Best goal of the European season so far IMHO (at least those that I have seen), simply awesome.
P.S.: Diego almost scored a similar one for us, but only almost.

Re: See that Ronaldinho goal
Ronaldinho fulfils boyhood dream with overhead goal
Ronaldinho said that he fulfilled a childhood dream by wrapping up Barcelona's 4-0 win over Villarreal on Saturday with his spectacular overhead kick three minutes from time.
Lurking in the Villarreal area, the Brazilian controlled a lofted pass from Xavi with his chest, swivelled round with his back to goal and then fired a stunning bicycle kick over the head of keeper Mariano Barbosa and high into the net.
'I didn't really think too much about it because it just happened on the spur of the moment,' said the 26-year-old who had scored Barca's opener from the penalty spot.
'When I controlled the ball it stood up just right and everything else worked out perfectly.
'Ever since I was a young boy I've dreamed of scoring a goal like that.
'I'm never going to forget this goal. Now I have to try for my other dream goal which is to score from the halfway line.'
The Nou Camp gave Ronaldinho a standing ovation after the goal, while Barca coach Frank Rijkaard admitted had left him gasping in admiration.
'Ronaldinho's second goal was the sort of marvel that provokes strong emotions from Barcelona and all football fans alike,' said the Dutchman. 'This sort of performance will help strengthen the side in matches to come.'
Barca keeper Victor Valdes said he had been the victim of similar goals in training.
'He's scored some like that against me in practice games and it's a nightmare,' he told reporters. 'It is no accident.'
