    Cygan, was the one defending it??

    Surely this discounts it.

    Because that goal could be scored by anyone The technique and style of Ronaldinho's goal, not many players could do it.

    Tell me, what is that different about the 2 goals?

    Both have turned the ball round with their chest, and both have improvised.

    Ronnie's may be slightly harder to do, because he had to over head kick it, but you try doing what Lampard did (with your weaker foot).

    Excellent technical goal.

    Excellent technical goal.

    Its a technically fabulous goal no doubt about it, but its not an overhead kick which i feel is slightly more difficult to execute.

    I am actually with S4P on this, I think Lampard's was slightly better. Although the overhead technique is harder dinho did not deliberately place it, i.e. hit it to loop over the keeper and down again into the goal. He just tried to make good contact with the ball and hit it towards the goal probably aiming for the far corner away from the keeper.

    Lampard on the other hand spun around and placed his shot in the corner. For me it was a better finish.

    That is if you don't beleive that Lampard's goal is just a poor cross..

    @FG/Obispo/S4P:

    No doubt Xavi had too much time to make the pass, but that's just how Spanish defences tend to play - by sitting off the ball. We are one of the few teams that pressure high up the field and it's obviously worked really well for us.

    Cygan did try to put his body in the way, but if he got too close or tried to be forceful, it would just have been another penalty. The fact that the keeper "screwed up" is simply because he didn't see it thanks to Cygan being in the way, which is what everyone is saying he didn't do.

    Also, the way you all are describing how the defence could be improved (better marking, etc.), we can belittle any goal using that. Maybe Lampard's goal against us wasn't that great because uh, someone should have closed him down. Or why was Maradona allowed to run instead of the English defenders just scything him down. Or the goalkeeping for Henry's lobbed goal (I think in 1998) against Man. Utd. was shit and Schmeichel should have been positioned better. Or there's nothing great about any long range goal ever scored because the defence "should have shut him down".

    We could go on and on belittling every great goal in similar fashion.

    Why the hell didn't he get carded for taking his shirt off anyway?

    Barca should be ashamed - they clearly bought the ref - cheats

    The goalie should have saved Ronaldinho's goal.
