Part of it, is lazyness. But kinda weird it's always with players from the same country's. You will almost never see a Scandinavian that can't speak the language of the country he is working/living. Same with us Dutchies.

Cristiano Ronaldo's English is at a good level now.
Jose Reyes found it really difficult to settle in England, a shame for us. I heard in the past tha his Spanish is also very poor so it is little wonder that he found English difficult to grasp.
Apparently he had Gypsy roots, and he left School at a very young age.

I've seen ronaldo do interview three times now. firstly he seems and intelligent lad, secondly he actually seems a nic bloke
and thirdly he speaks a hell of a lot better english than most United fans
