Lets not forget drinking.
Ronaldo in his prime was the best striker ever. Some of this stuff he done, was mind blowing, if it hadnt been for knee injuries im pretty sure he would have lit the football world on fire for those years.

Yeah, thinking of it that way, if he doesn't mind taking Saviola's role of a few minutes here and there along with cup games, and agrees to the club's wage structure (though not in the highest category, more on a par with Motta, Giuly , etc.) then I wouldn't mind taking him. Better have him as backup for a couple of years than spend 20 million on someone who we're unsure about, since there's no real obvious candidate in the market right now.

Just imagine if he had been fit, and kept himself focused. We could have seen many more seasons like this one...

Re: Would you take Ronaldo?
Yes, I would take him, I think Fergie could motivate him and get him fit and into shape.
As I said on a different post he proved how great he is at the world cup, he was fat and not not at all match fit, but still scored the same amount as Henry and in less games.
On form he still is the best player in the world and not for injuries he would have been the best player ever.

Re: Would you take Ronaldo?
Tuttosport(whoever that is) have linked us to him, i doubt it's true but i wouldn't be surprised, it would be a typical Fat Fred signing. A front 5 of Martins, Ronaldo, Milner, Dyer, and N'Zogbia = Mouthwatering
He might be fat and lazy but he still knows where the net is.

Yes, but as 6 month deal first.
Hey, even Kluivert is starting to turn around now at PSV ( ) - finding form he lost somewhere four years ago.

Re: Would you take Ronaldo?
@Steve00
Thats what I mean, he was terrible and still scored, how many other forwards ran around like headless chickens without scoring or even causing any danger. He showed that he has unbelievable talent, no player could score that many without doing anything. If he got himself fit and actually bothered he would be the best striker in the world again.
Think about hes been succesful in every league he has played in (unlike Sheva), you can rely on him in big games (unlike Henry) he plays well internationally (unlike Eto) and can score from anywere within 30 yards (unlike Ruud)

He played for Brazil though. Perhaps the most attacking-minded team of all. Against weaker opponents.Rez wrote:@Steve00

I doubt even Ronaldo would have had the same amount of goals had he played for T&T or the Saudis.

Re: Would you take Ronaldo?
They werent that attacking in the world cup, there system was set up for counter attack/transition football. But no one attacked them, thats why they didnt play well, bar a few games.
If you put any good striker in a rubbish team, they wouldnt do well, look at Sheva against Spain or Weah. If Ronaldo went to a rubbish club, he wouldnt do well, but for instance if he came to united he would be playing with good players in attacking team

Re: Would you take Ronaldo?
If we could get him on our wage plan, yup I'd take a fat Ronaldo.
He'd score a ton of goals for us too.
Ronaldo-Liedson...best pair in Europe.
