    Burnley seal Djemba-Djemba loan

Djemba Djemba has been linked with a move to Spain
Burnley have signed Aston Villa's out-of-favour Cameroon midfield man Eric Djemba-Djemba on loan until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old has signed in time to make his debut at Southampton.

Clarets' boss Steve Cotterill said: "Eric has good pedigree and once we get him fit we hope he will be a good addition to the squad.

"It says something about the boy's character that he is prepared to drop down from the Premiership."

Djemba-Djemba moved to Villa from Manchester United in a £1.3m deal in January 2005 after struggling to make an impact at Old Trafford, making only 39 appearances in 18 months

    Shocked
I might be wrong, But i think he was Cameroon captain, rated as one of the best young players in the French league. He came to Man Utd, looked good on his debut aswell. But ever since downhill. He must of started 3 games for villa maximum.

you say that but the Championship is a good league...I enjoy watching it. Very competitive, it's watched a lot more and the standard is decent.

Players dont mind playing for championship teams...

He looked good against Arsenal on his debut, but I imagine that was the game of his life, he couldnt pass or tackle, what a useless player.

@Tweeds so true, a bit like Wenger, they should take a leaf out of Souness book on how to get the best out of young players.

Maybe we didn't give him enough games to prove himself but how could we when every chance we gave him equated to 2 goals conceeded.

MAybe we had too many players of that mould at the time in Butt, Kleberson, Keane, and that caused problems in terms of him getting a chance.

I'll never forget the match aainst Lyon, he could barely get any pass on target and only RVN's 2nd half cameo saved us from a hilarously bad defeat.

o'neill clearly didn't rate him. after the man utd game he made a comment to about how bad the injuries were, saying "djemba-djemba was the 17th man and that's all we could muster". so it was only a matter of time before he was gone.

never got a run in the team, mind. played a whole 2 minutes this season.
