But that's true. You can't call him anti-Arsenal for speaking the truth. That's like calling the Bible pro-Christian...

No argument about that. As discussed, the man's vocabulary only extends to about 100 phrases, and he's a sort of punditry jukebox - the BBC puts money in and he cycles through, clicks a few out.

Fa cup against the saints, conferdation cup finals, euro 2000 finals. Was also one of the best players on the pitch against italy in germany.

To be honest considering I'm a gooner I quite dislike Henry but thought that earlier comment was pretty valid. I'd probably go as far to say that I hate Henry.

Re: Thierry Henry
To be honest - he is a very good player.
He is physically the bets footballer I've ever seen - no question.
He also has a good footballing brain which allows him to see things early.
Hasn't quite got the talent though - the feet can't quite match the brain.
At the end of the day he has 7 in 17 starts in KO phases of CL and 2 goals in 8 starts in KO phases of Intl tournaments - plus appauling record away to United, Liverpool and Chelsea and in Cup finals.
I will remember people like Ronaldo, Batistuta, Kluivert, Shevchenko, Eto'o (already) and Owen as better players.
No disgrace in that.

Re: Thierry Henry
I agree with most of those names but Owen your having a laugh. I presume your also anti-Henry. But your also forgetting he's very unorthodox and his style of play means he will never get as many goals as the above mentioned.

What's wrong with any of that? ruud was a disgrace to the club. scholes was playing horrible and needed to be out of the team. ronaldo just screwed his friend infront of the world

4 games in Ko phases of Major International tournaments - 4 goals and 2 pens converted.
Dealt with Barca and Roma on your way to UEFA Cup win.
F.A. Cup final in 2001.
The most (possibly only?) World Class England player of his generation.
Its not how often you do it that counts - its when you do it, which is why players like these should be remembered as legends:

That's a very flawd way of judging a player. Christiano ronaldo for example has 1 in 7 starts in ko stages of international tournamnet, has only goal 1 goal in 27 starts in the CL( none this season), none in the KO phase etc but is this not the same player some were calling the best player in the world just a few days ago? I can also use similar stats to prove inzaghi is a far better striker than rvn.
and your "owen is better than henry" comment is just laughable.

Still doesn't stop him from being a limited footballer. 'Specially from 2002 onwards. I'll never dispute his ability to finish.

yours truly wrote:In what ways is he limited?
In the way that he hasn't scored outside the box since he was like, 20 (possible exaggeration), he has no build up play and he barely plays 30 games a season even when he's 'fit'.
... And he encourages the rest of the team to play shit football.*
*Ok, that's Houllier, but still. If Michael Owen could drop deep and link up the play, it wouldn't have been so bad.

Oh thought you were refering to Henry. Owen was always overated but made his name because of one mazy run against a mediocre Argentinian defence.

Re: Thierry Henry
He would never have been sold by madrid if the other aspects of his game were fine. He scored a lot of goals for them but only that's not enough for a striker in modern day football.
