    Can you name them.

If you split up the teams in to 5 groups of 4, Newcastle would be in the second tier, with Spurs and maybe Everton and Bolton.

Pompey the same as us ? they finished over 20 points behind us last year and they havnt brought that many players in yet, whilst we have really worked hard to strengthen. We are at least on a par with Boro, Everton and Blackburn.

4th tier I define as mid-table clubs that could with luck get a UEFA spot

Yeah but i dont think there is any difference between Everton, Boro, Bolton, Blackburn and City - look at their squads and they are all evenly matched. There is no way i would consider us to be a level down on these teams. Only Everton have improved out of those sides and they only have 2 strikers in their squad unless you include James Vaughan.

No way are Bolton and Blackburn tier 2 and we are tier 4 - this is taking the piss. Villa tier 3 - everyone said they would go down the other week., how do they suddenly improve so much ?? they havnt signed anyone. Have a look at the Bolton squad, its very thin and they have lost a lot of decent players and signed Tal and Fortune. Blackburn have lost Bellamy adn brought in McCarthy and Roberts ok they are decent buys but i wouldnt say Blackburn have really improved.

It's similar to predicting where everyone will finish, after the top 4-6 teams can be everywhere depending on opinions.

seriously though, based on the squad, i agree you definitely couldn't put villa ahead of man city at the minute. but i'd say most of the teams put in 2-4 are pretty interchangeable

How rusty did the whole team look last night? So off the pace it was incredible.

Moldova deserved to win no doubt

Unfortunately, I expect the 1st team will look equally unconvincing tonight...

Peter taylor IMO played the wrong tactics.

I think the players that are coming through are really good though - this result is a one off and can be explained by a lack of fitness

I agree in principle, but in fairness to England, their best youngsters are playing for the national team. Rooney, Downing, Bent and Lennon are all available for U21 caps I believe.
