Downing turned 22 a couple of weeks ago.

Bent was 22 in January
Neil Lennon is 35

Can still play for the u21's at 22

I understand you have to be under 21 at the start of the tournament, so as last night's game was the first of the tournament anyone over 21 would be ineligable

Correct me L R D, but this is my understanding of the rule.

Ok my understanding was you are allowed two 22 yr olds, but this was a few years ago i heard of this and believed it ever since. couldnt care less about the u21 to be sure though

There were definitely glimpses of quality- Bentley, Routledge, Reo Coker, Huddlestone, Baines all produced accasional moments of magic,

but on the whole, the team looked like a side who have had 3 months off.

Defending was shocking

I dont really get the U21 Rules i really dont.


Back in 2002 Pirlo was 23 but he was playing for Italy U21'S in European Championships in Switzerland someone please explain that to me.

as for the Defending it was shocking IMHO Scott Carson really doesnt instill the defence with confidence,Basically i dont remember Carson ever having a good game so far in his young career.

i think they´d have been better giving Foster a game, he´s unlikely to play for the 1st team so he´d have been better served getting some match practice at international level

Thats because Scott Carson is shit - he has no precense whatsoever. He also doesn't know what hes doing and relies entirely on instinct

I've said it about a million times - as a shot-stopper, Carson could go on to be one of the best in the premiership. He never talks to the centrebacks though. He's nowhere near vocal enough and he just isn't quick enough off his line.

He's still young though in keeper terms and he has a fair bit of experience for someone his age. Let's see how he does at Charlton.

Constant snipes my arse, i congratulated them for their win against Chelsea. I defended the smog when the mancs were saying that Richardson was better than Downing and that Fletcher would walk into their midfield. And i've always praised Alex Ferguson.
