Fiore plus £8.5M for Martins
Media reports insist that Valencia ve matched Liverpool's offer for Martins by throwing in Fiore.... This could be a win win.... yeah, so we lose a talented youngster, but Fiore could add that extra in the Inter midfield....

Re: Fiore plus £8.5M for Martins
There's no way we will have bid that much immediately IMHO. I doubt we've even bid that much for Kuijt, so far.

Re: Fiore plus £8.5M for Martins
maybe but we have bellamy and he will be just fine this season... id much rather a kuyt/klose/trez type signing to put crouch on the bench... could you see benitez starting bellamy and martins together...also seriously doubt we would bid 12.8 for him whenever we were struggling to get the cash for a 10 million bid for kuyt...Emmanuele Elboue wrote:@ COTR

sick of the specualtion TBH... just hope someone is signed quickly... and preferably not martins

because they want to trim their squad. I reckon he will go to the Prem and INter will gladly take the money.

does martins play as a striker or winger come striker... i just can't see this 12.8 figure being correct

Just read the article - I assume you mean the one on the channel 4 Website, bluenine? - and I think it's Portsmouth, not us, who've offered that much money.
"The youngster is being courted by Liverpool, Spurs, Newcastle and Portsmouth who are understood to have offered £12.8m."

9 in serie A... but cruz scored 15 in serie A for Inter, that does not make Cruz a better striker.... just that Martins is young and can learn, he is just 22!

I think it means Cruz is a better goalscorer tho. Martins is a good player, i dont think he's a natural goalscorere tho and thats why Liverpool wont go in for him.
Really happy about Fiore. I'd rather see him at inter than roma.

It is bizarre why you hate Roma seeing you are from Wales!
In Italy it is obvious and understandable if you are born in the capital, the reason is socialogical and historical NOT for footballing reasons. Football and politics frequently mix in Italy and it is not a pleasant aspect of our culture.
The Fiore incident is not surprising, Lazio have a history of bowing under pressure to their Ultras, recently we see this with Liverani. Historically we see this with Signori and Chinaglia.
Only in Rome and also Genoa and Turin does this happen, in Milan the rivalry is different, it is purely footballing but thus does not stop players crossing the 'great divide' it frequently happens.
You only have to look at the name of the shared stadium for an example of this.

Totti's arrogance, humiliating defeats, the sheer amount of people over here who despise Lazio and hold Roma up as some example of great fans , Marco Delvecchio etc.
I just don't like the club. Something about them really irritates me. It's not a "lazio thing" because Liverpool has always come before Lazio. They're just a club that gets on my nerves, even if they can occasionally play nice football (sigh ).
