The OFFICIAL England - Spain friendly thread

England and Spain play a friendly next Wednesday in Manchester.

The Spanish squad has been announced:

Antonio López, Pablo, Torres, Cesc, Iniesta, Xavi, Puyol, Ángel, Arizmendi, Capdevila, Reina, Xabi Alonso, Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Javi Navarro, Albelda, Angulo, Morientes, Silva and Villa

Away game for Spain.

I predict a meek 1-1. Villa and Gerrard to score.

the way Spain is going to play is anybody's guess with Aragones pulling the strings still. Some may even hope for another negative result to finally put the last nail on his coffin, football coaching wise.

Still, dare I adventure a starting XI?

This is what I expect for England:

Robinson
Neville-Woodgate-Ferdinand-Bridge
Gerrard-Lampard-Carrick-Downing
Rooney-Crouch

In the 2nd half the midfield will probably change to Lennon-Dyer-Carrick-Barry, and of course Defoe, Richards, etc. will get some minutes.


For Spain, I have no idea, and it's no point guessing because Aragones no doubt is in his own world.
