I think Ronaldo will score! How I would love that!
I hope we win, I think we can upset Inter, and make it a great week.

Actually I think he will probably score, coz he will be really desperate to.... but I hope he doesn't, and even if he does, I hope Inter score 3 goals for each goal he scores.....
I want Inter to rub the buckteeth in the san siro dirt, thats what I want. And a kick from materazzi, God knows I never wished that for any other player

Have to say your a bit hard on the great man. I already explained to you that he did the best thing for himself for leaving, and anyone would have done the same in the situation including yourself. He is not some kind of homegrown player who owes anything to the club, he always gave his best and then moved because it was better for him. It is about time you got over it.
So I'm going to hope for a hatrick for Ronaldo (possible), and good grace shown by the Inter fans (impossible)
In truth though Milan are not playing well and Inter are probably favourites. Materrazzi will be shitting himself as he knows what ronaldo can do.

If Ronaldo scores the winning goals in this game I will probably die of laughter looking at the faces of the Inter fans.
They litetrally introduced the world to the phrase "buck-toothed ingrate" in a simillar way Beckham did with metetarsal.

Really?? You seem to know me pretty well if you think I would have done the same thing... I don't think so. I have stuck behind a club during its worst phase in history, 16 years without winning, and I am not even a home grown fan. I think you forget the history, my friend, what Inter did for Ronaldo:
1. Broke the transfer fee record to get him,
2. Fans treated him like a God
3. Paid him like a God
4. Continued paying him his top dollar for over 3 years of injury, when it was not even sure whether he will ever be able to play again
5. Took care of his astronomical medical bills during that period.
6. Moratti treated him like family - he used to get special treatment like the owners son would
And the moment that ingrate bucktooth rediscovered form (in the world cup), he left without playing a single game for Inter....
Nah, I doubt I would have done the same thing if I were Ronaldo.... As a professional, I try my best to ensure that my employers get more than what they are paying for.... Ronaldo is the anti-Zanetti, the complete opposite of the player Inter fans love the most. Zanetti isn't home grown either, by the way, just look at the example he has set - stuck with the club thru its worst phase when he was easily the best RB in teh world and could have walked into any team on this planet...
I am hardly being harsh on that ingrate bucktooth now, am I??

paid another club money to get him? like all clubs
fans cheered him on like they're supposed to? like all clubs
paid him what was in the contract? like all clubs
continued paying him while he was injured like was in the contract? like all clubs
paid his medical bills as was in the contract? like all clubs
Moratti treated him like family? yeah right
though I'd already told you before, but maybe you missed it, and being in canada or wherever you are maybe you don't know:
ronaldo kept getting injured when he came back from his big injury due to cuper's training regime. Even the medical staff thought that ronaldo should have special training separate from the rest until he was properly fit and strong again. Cuper dismissed the brasilian's "claims for special treatment" and insisted he train like the rest hence he was injured again every couple of matches. Cuper hated ronaldo (maybe argentinian-brasilian problem?). Ronaldo went off to the world cup away from cuper training methods and stayed fit and became top scorer. He was promised by moratti that cuper would be gone at the start of the new season, unfortunately the argentinian mafia is pretty strong at inter with zanetti et al, so cuper got to stay, so Ronaldo decided to leave. Ronaldo was proved right as he stayed fit and did well at Real, while cuper was sacked after a couple of months at Inter when they again failed to play well.
For your career if your boss was treating you like crap, and you had the chance to leave and have a far better situation elsewhere are you telling me you wouldn't? And later on your boss was found out and sacked, whereas you end up being happy and doing some of your best work in years. I assume that 99% of intelligent people would have done what ronaldo did, and I am assuming that you're intelligent (I've been reading the argue like saints thread )
Ronaldo always gave his best for the team, and I even remember the days of him tackling back while players like vieri were goal-hanging. The fans of Inter who hate him don't know or understand the situation. You behave as if he tricked you into paying him, got himself injured and sat around having a nice holiday while getting paid, then ran off when fit just to have a go at you. In fact he was in a bad situation and moved to make his personal situation better.
You bunch of blue-black ingrates for what he gave to you

Where did you get that from?? You either need to stop reading tabloids or stop believing every thing they say. It was the other way round - Ronaldo was pissed at Cuper coz he thought he should start every game... while Cuper used to listen to the medics and use Ronaldo cautiously. There was also a concern on his fitness. Infact, the reason why Ronaldo was in top shape for the WC was coz of cuper's cautious use.
Ronaldo also had a HUGE discipline problem. He used to act like a primadonna. Cuper was fair with him, tho not too happy about his coming late from holidays or coming late for training.
Ronaldo thought that if the coach does not do as he says, he can just ask Moratti to change the coach... Finally Moratti took one good decision, and told Ronaldo to sod off.
He is just a fat greedy bucktooth.
I am glad that he did so well after he left Inter... so how many trophies did he win??

Yeah, he did give his best for the team in his first season with Inter. Thats why he was treated like a God. But to even compare his contribution for Inter with Vieri is a joke, Bobo is many times more professional than Ronaldo, much more committed as a player, and contributed far more.
Ronaldo did not leave coz everyone was against him... Ronaldo left coz Moratti wouldn't fire the coach just coz Ronaldo asked him to... After hsi world cup heroics, Ronaldo thought he could get away with any demand. If he had stayed at Inter, there was no way Cuper would have benched him... Cuper was no fool.
Think whateva you like. I just hope Inter fans ve their banners ready to recieve that ingrate fat bucktooth.

Haha... looking back, the best thing Ronaldo gave to Inter in his 5 years were not his 49 goals.... but the transfer money from Madrid. Thank you Ronaldo, the money was so much better spent!

Just whistles?? You fucking wimps, call yourselves ultras, eh?!
We are going to boo him out of the park!!!
Inter fans to 'deafen' Ronaldo
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Inter supporters have planned 30,000 whistles to heckle Ronaldo throughout the derby, but Gennaro Gattuso assures his teammate is ready for anything.
This will be the first time Il Fenomeno has faced his former club since joining Milan and the fans have prepared a welcome that is not so much warm as incandescent. The ‘Boys’ Ultras club have prepared 30,000 whistles to hand out at San Siro so that fans can deafen Ronaldo with the noise every time he touches the ball. Nonetheless, teammate Gattuso is certain that the unusual situation will not trouble Ronie too much. “Ronaldo is in good shape, wants to do well and I think he’s been dreaming about this match for a very long time,” smiled the midfielder.
“It’s only normal he’ll have an incredible desire to prove he is not finished as a player, regardless of what some might say.”Ringhio has never scored in the Milan derby and is none too confident of his chances on Sunday afternoon either.“I get the feeling if I hit the back of the net against Inter there would be a lot of heart attacks on the pitch! It’s better to let that thought go, nobody expects Gattuso on the scoresheet in a derby, but in football you never know.”
Milan and Roma are through to the Champions League quarter-finals, but the all-conquering Inter have crashed out against Valencia. “Nobody can change my mind on the fact that if Inter had the entire squad at their disposal, they would have beaten Valencia easily. I think this is one of the strongest teams in Europe at the moment for the way they are set up and the type of football they play.”

Adriano out of Milan derby
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adriano, Esteban Cambiasso and Patrick Vieira will not take part in tomorrow’s Derby della Madonnina. “Adriano is out of action,” explained Coach Roberto Mancini. “He’s not in great shape and we prefer not to run any risks. We hope to have him back for next week.”
L’Imperatore has been struggling with a muscular problem for the past week and was expected to recover in time for either the midweek Champions League tie with Valencia or Sunday afternoon’s clash with Milan. However, he has not been included in the 19-man squad announced by Mancini and will therefore be in the stands. He is joined by Cambiasso, who has also failed to recover in time from a thigh strain, and Vieira continues treatment for a long-term knee injury.
It is therefore believed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will partner ex-Milan striker Hernan Crespo upfront. Nicolas Burdisso is included despite fracturing his nose in the Mestalla brawl on Tuesday, while Alvaro Recoba returns to the side. Douglas Maicon is suspended. “The swelling around Nicolas’ eye has gone down and the nose is also better. He’s a fighter, he won’t pull back,” added Mancio
Inter squad: 1 Francesco Toldo, 12 Julio Cesar Soares; 2 Ivan Ramiro Cordoba, 4 Javier Zanetti, 6 Maxwell, 11 Fabio Grosso, 16 Nicolas Burdisso, 23 Marco Materazzi, 25 Walter Samuel, 77 Marco Andreolli; 5 Dejan Stankovic, 7 Luis Figo, 15 Olivier Dacourt, 21 Santiago Solari, 91 Mariano Gonzalez; 8 Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 9 Julio Ricardo Cruz, 18 Hernan Crespo, 20 Alvaro Recoba.

@ bluenine: Everything I have written above is not based on tabloids since I don't read them.
I'm afraid you are the one who gets your info from whatever tabloids you have in canada or us or wherever you said you lived (most likely from inter fan-sites which are also full of rumours, doubly far from the truth if you read that stuff in English). I live about 45 mins from the san siro, I've got a lot of friends who are very closely connected to both clubs (some who work there), so I get the information more first hand. Yes, Ronaldo does misbehave but this is in regard to going to the rio carnival. At the time he was at Inter he was MARRIED and not going out partying all the time. So you're 100% wrong on that account. He didn't have a discipline problem, you're mistaking him for adriano, so I wonder what name you will come up for him when he leaves? Maybe something like uni-browed ingrate?
Ronaldo was constantly injured when he first came back from his big injury because of cuper. It is no coincidence that when he got away from cuper at the world cup he stayed fit (amazing that you can give credit to Cuper for that, when it was the brasil physios!!). When he went to real he stayed fit (why don't you give credit to Cuper for that as well?). The problem was Cuper's dislike for ronaldo (which was of course reciprocated). Moratti made a decision, not exactly treating him like a son was he? Charimen have to back the manager otherwise no new manager would come in knowing that a player could get him fired.
It doesn't surprise me that Inter have put the spin on to blame ronaldo as it was really bad management as usual, especially from moratti, and it looks like the fans like you bought it. Why would ronaldo say he would come back etc? His problem lay only with cuper, not with Inter.
As for the ultras/hooligans they are total dickheads. Ronaldo is a big game player if ever there was one, why not give him some more motivation.
I really hope he stuffs you now. I've bought my Ronaldo 99 Milan shirt, and it looks better than my Ronaldo 9 Inter shirt, so maybe he has ended up at the right club

I have supported this club for 2 decades now, am one of the earliest members of Interlist, founding member of Inter fan club in Delhi, Inter Fan club London (yeah, I live here now), and have been supporting Inter before Ronaldo started playing professional football. I have been to San Siro many times (tho prefer to watch Inter games at the olympico in rome) usually a coupla times a year. I envy your proximity to the san siro, but you certainly seem to look at this issue thru a very pro-ronaldo perspective (don't blame ya, we all did that at some point in time). I suspect that you are a bigger fan of Ronaldo, than Inter or Milan... So my opinion has been formed by living and breathing this club during those times and talking to many fellow interisti.
Ronaldo's coming late from holidays is legendary - he makes adriano look professional! Moratti made a lot of poor decisions concerning the bucktooth (forgiving his carnival delays specially), but backing the coach (Cuper) over the player (Bucktooth) was probably one of his best decisions. He may be the greatest striker of this generation, but he is also a greedy selfish dickhead. I don't care whether he scores on sunday or not, what is more important is that the fans show him how much he is "welcome" at the San Siro. He wanted to come back to Inter, he can dream as much as he wants.
Great player, no doubt. But as a professional, I have ZERO respect for him. He will remain in the record books till someone breaks those records, but players like Zanetti (or Maldini, depending on which side of Milan you look at it) will always remain in the hearts. That for me as a fan, is much more important.
So, what inside info have you got on how well Ronaldo is getting on with his good pal Seedorf??

The way Ronaldo left Inter after the injuries and his success in the WC was not only awful, it’s was cruel, especially with the fans, who LOVED him in a very special way.
I can’t stand Inter, and always hated their football, but I still can remember when he was coming back from his injury, how the fans stood by his side, at the beginning of the matches when the big screen showed the players names, the fans reaction to Ronaldo name was just something special, used to give me chills. He was truly their God.
I was at home watching THAT game (where his knee just fells out of place ) and one of the images in my mind was the fans in the stadium crying like babies, absolute desperate. So I can understand if they still are hurt with his decision to leave the club.
Also, to Milans fans, I have to apologize, I thought that Milan was crazy for signing Ronaldo, I thought he was just a lazy, fat, finished football player. But after his first games I was taken back, I have no idea he still had conditions to make an impact in the Milan team. I have never notice until now how much the team misses Sheva in the front, its like they missed their reference point in the attack, and Ronaldo really fitted his place (is still soon, but I think their next games the team will only improve) After watching Milan and Celtic you could see how much the team needs someone like him in the attack, it’s a shame that he is cup tided)
About the classic, I am afraid Ronaldo will score, he loves this kind of game, and usually is very cold in tension situations, so I think Milan will win, Hey but at least will make the season more fun

Though I agree with some points 110% brings up, I lean towards bluenine's characterization of events. Moratti treated Ronaldo very well, and Ronaldo was a judas.
While Ronaldo suffered a horrible time at Inter, the way he left them was really harsh. After sticking by him through his injury (as 110% correctly points out, most clubs would), Ronaldo left (which not a lot of players would).
The Cuper thing, IMO, was a facade. Ronaldo didn't want to stay at Inter and he left--plain and simple. When someone wants to justify their actions, they will come up with the lamest excuses. If I were the Inter fans I would whistle him too.
But I can't wait to see him wag that finger tomorrow as he wheels away in delight after scoring.

I also remember Ronaldo making some veiled comments during the World cup in 2002. The version I've always believed is that R. Carlos filled his ears about how great Real Madrid is, and Ronaldo could then use the Cuper thing as an excuse (making the rift sound worse than it actually was) to get out of Inter. I also remember him acting like a real spoiled brat, not training with the team and basically throwing a fit till the last day when his transfer was approved.

Great "derby" in Spain last night, let's see if this one can match that (though the 4-3 when Milan were the "home" team was amazing in itself).

Matrix ready for Ron battle
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marco Materazzi was Ronaldo’s teammate and remains a good friend, but warns that for 90 minutes they will be at loggerheads.“I fear this match will be sold as ‘Inter v Ronie’, even if he is part of the past,” said the defender ahead of today’s Milan derby. “Ronaldo came to help Inter win and gave us some wonderful memories. He made a difficult decision and I respect him for that.
"However, after the pre-match handshake, he’d best no longer consider me a friend! I believe the same goes for him, he’ll do everything he can to beat us.” Il Fenomeno wore the Nerazzurri jersey for five years before his switch to Real Madrid, but few expected him to return to the other side of the San Siro.
“I expect he’ll be very motivated, because the sword of Damocles is hanging over his head. He must prove that he remains Ronaldo, but we in turn will try to show he’s not! "Today, in my view, Milan’s real star is Kaka. He is one of the most decisive players in the world and Celtic saw it on Wednesday. He is a leader, a future Ballon d’Or winner.”
Materazzi is hardly famed for his technique, but insists he has a great deal in common with Kaka. “I can see myself in him, because hard work does pay off. He has class and technique, the gifts from Mother Nature. I have desire and determination – with those I achieved remarkable things in my career. “In that sense, in what we have achieved, I feel myself very much the same as Kaka. We exemplify how a player can do well with different strengths. It’s a good lesson to teach children.”
Others would suggest Materazzi’s counter-part in the Milan derby is battling midfielder Gennaro Gattuso. “It’s true we both have that competitive edge. I swear Rino would give a leg rather than lose a match! Yet in Valencia, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and myself were the calmest people there.
“It was almost like a reverse reaction. When we saw that usually relaxed players like Ivan Cordoba and Julio Cruz went mad trying to defend their ‘brother’, as we consider all our teammates, then we thought to ourselves ‘This situation seriously needs to be taken down a few notches.’” That Champions League exit hurt Inter badly and the derby after only a few days will give them the opportunity to patch up that wound.
“Of course we are disappointed, but these are two different competitions. We want to take three precious points away from Milan so that they won’t have to play the preliminary round this summer. That way we can all have a nice long holiday in the sun together,” grinned the ‘generous’ Materazzi.
“We knew the Rossoneri were one of the contenders to win the Champions League and, considering the squad, they’ll reach the Final. We will win the Scudetto that everyone says is ‘ugly’ because Roma are 16 points behind, but the same side beat the great Lyon. “There’s one of two realities here. Either there is another Roma side in Serie A or we have done something good this season.”

I am really looking forward to this game.. Don't know who to support but I just hope it doesn't get bogged down in over cautious tactics (still I don't expect the same naive gung-ho, who cares about defending, style from last night).

The extra bite in this derby will make up for anything else.... even if there are less goals than the 4-3 and 3-2 in the previous derbies, the atmos today will be special.
Its funny how the derby is always 50-50, irrespective of the form/standings of the two teams.... I can't even say that Inter start as favourites, there are never any favourites in Il Derby!
We are going to really miss Cambiasso and Vieira.... and Adriano. I hope Mancio throws caution to the wind and attacks Milan out of the game... My starting XI:
-----------------Cesar
Zanetti - Materazzi - Cordoba - Grosso
Figo - Dacourt - Stankovic - Recoba
------------Ibra - Crespo
Though most likely Recoba will start at the bench.

Recoba is sooo underrated, one of the best left feet in the game.. Still his attitude sucks and quickly gives up.
