DELIGHTED DUTCH: Stevens + Van der Vaart = winning machine!

Hamburg's wonderful run of form continued as they shocked leaders Schalke with a 2-0 win at AufSchalke Arena.

At the turn of the year, Hamburg were in deep relegation trouble - but they now find themselves in tenth after their fourth successive win.

Schalke had been looking to extend their lead at the top to seven points, but it was not to be as Hamburg secured victory.

Hamburg left it late but it was Dutch star Rafael van der Vaart, who inspired them again, as he gave them the lead with just 19 minutes left.

Croatian Ivica Olic sealed the victory with 10 minutes left.

Otto, what is the feeling in Germany about Huub Stevens Verein these days??? Doll was a great manager according to you Germans, I can imagine it must hurt a bit when ein Niederlander pulles of a stunt like this?

Doll is still highly regarded

sometimes you need to have a fresh face on the bench ,

the verdict is that Doll was maybe slightly too nice; in line with club policy he also had his favourites, guys like de Jong, ie was not building his team according to performance levels
