    Charlton are pretty well run.

They are well run though - by the fact that they are where they are having not spent much - the fans only pay about £15 a ticket and they get a smaller attendance than Charlton, who charge about £25 a ticket

Bremen have done sensationally well recently

losing their key player/s every season and still going from strength to strength on a low-budget whilst playing attractive football

problem is, they should now take the next step, but seem unable to shift into a higher gear both on and off the pitch

I was joking Deano about Chelsea.

Havent Spurs spent more money than anyone bar Chelsea since 2004 and havent won anything. They cant be that well run.

Sevilla do an excellent job with handling players and managers, but don't be completely fooled by the past couple of seasons. Their president is a nutter and many off-field political issues remain. While I admire their setup a lot, I wouldn't call it the best run club in Europe because of all the controversy their president gets up to.

For what concerns Serie A, I definitely would pick other clubs before Chievo and Palermo.

Chievo did miracles for years but the current one is their worst season so far.

Palermo is doing ultra well, growing from a Serie B average side to one of the 5/6 best Serie A teams in four years while changing many key players every season is pretty remarkable... but also their budget is.
They are very sensible at managing their money, but they are by no means poor. Apart the Inter-Milan-Juve trio, only Fiorentina at the moment has a (slightly) greater spending power.
Also, their chairman is a madman. Zamparini is very smart, but also very moody, his compulsive coach crunching is not wise and sooner or later will backfire.

This season the best-bang-for-the-bucks in Serie A are Lazio and Empoli.

Without deductions, Lazio would be 1 point ahead of Palermo with a fraction of the budget and after years of total uncertainity.
Their president Lotito looks like a naive moron but he definitely knows what is doing.

Empoli is just 4 points behind Palermo, and is probably the smaller Serie A club around. They really are one of the best run club in Europe - honest, educated and quiet management, relaxed atmosphere... they are standing still in serie A for some good year now with basically no money.

It wouldn't be surprising if they ended up getting 2/9 points in the next 3 games the way their season has gone.

Porto has done pretty well. Small club in a small country and winning stuff in europe.

PSV for they regenerate their squad pretty well too and Lyon has done well in the last few years but this one has more money to spent.

Medium/small clubs that are well run there are tons but for me a well run club has to win something so though many of these clubs are well run in a few seasons from now their achievements won´t be remember because they've won nothing.

Something extremely funny I read today (via La Liga Loca): AS reported today that apparently Sevilla have an incredible 13 psychologists employed at the club!!! Quite amusing when you consider that they continually choke when they're top of the league Laugh

I know that you are 99 years old and all, but I am still amazed that you can remember the first season we were contenders..

    scratch

I meant it's difficult for a group of players to adjust to being top of the league and expected to win every match, especially when other teams, even Nastic, have that much more incentive to beat you.
