    I hope that this match is going to live up to the expectations. I'll definitely watch it.

    It's a crucial match for both teams. If Bayern go through, it will have a strong impact on the Bundesliga as well, it will give them a huge confidence boost that will definitely help them in the upcoming race for the title.
    It's similar for Real I guess, especially if Barça get knocked out tonight. And Capello's future at the club may depend on this match also.

    And both clubs have been archrivals in Europe for decades, no love lost between their fans. The Van Bommel incident will only strengthen the antipathy.

    @jaime

    thanks for the pix

    Senorita Sastre is indeed a visual delight

    the first image suggests that she might have been under the knife though, which I am not too keen on

    do you know the film "Beyond the clouds" , by Antonioni/Wenders ?

    Irene Jacob and Sohpie Marceau feature in addition to Sastre and Fanny Ardant; axe would love it Wink

    ---------------

    so what's the mood in the Real camp ?

    are you confident about tomorrow ?

    are you getting nervous about playing the Bestia Negra on their turf ?

    Schuster predicts a 1:1

    what else could he say angling for a job at either club though Wink

    An early Podolski strike and a first half hat-trick from Makaay should settle any tension.

    I like Schuster's prediction! I don't think we can win in Germany, truthfully. But we may have just enough to manage a draw. If Cannavaro can avoid a major catastrophe and Diarra has a strong match, I think we can get the result we need. But if we go down by one early it could be ugly. We'll see if Capello has any tricks up his sleeve.

    I'll be on pins and needles all day tomorrow...but for now I just want to sit back and enjoy a nice convincing win by Liverpool!

    not 100% sure

    probably like this ?

    Kahn

    Sagnol - Lucio - van Buyten - Lahm

    Goerlitz - Bommel - Demichilis - Schweini

    Makaay - Poldi

    Lucio is not fully fit and could be replaced by the Gaucho , in which case somebody else has to step in

    Why do you care so much about Ottl Ricardo? Don't think he'll play, Hargreaves will play in the DM position (according to kicker.de).

    @Blut

    He is my Euroboard Cup benchwarmer. In case I need him I would like him to be on the pitch. Isn't there a small chance he can come in as a sub?

    I also care about him because Otto says he is one of the brightest talents in the world... Wink

    Otto really said that? Ottl is talented, but not one of the brightest German talents even.

    @Cesc

    Rensing is very talented, but he needs to get more games before he'll be "mature" enough for the number 1 spot at a club like Bayern. But other Bundesliga clubs like Schalke and Leverkusen replaced their goalies with German youngsters recently, both with great success (Neuer for Rost (Schalke), Adler for Butt (Leverkusen).

    Rensing used to be the brightest young talent on his position in Germany, but now he has some serious competition by Adler and Neuer. Not to mention slightly older players like Wiese (Werder Bremen), who are improving every season.

    There really is no lack of excellent goal keepers in this country.

    kicker might be wrong though

    Sali and Lucio are doubtful

    let's hope Hargreaves, Bayern's MAIN player (according to the S.Times) , can make it Wink

    @ric

    have I ever really hyped Ottl ?

    I doubt it, you cheeky Nederlander

    -------------

    if you read sport1.de you'll see that Bayern think their defence will concede a goal

    Poldi and Makaay have to score TWO at least it seems

    let's hope for a good van Bommel game

    I remember watching Rensing in a youth tournament a few years back and he was very good. I think we were linked with him shortly afterwards as a replacement for Jens Lehmann.

    Both Butt and Rost were good keepers. The replacements must be good to keep them out of the line up. Wasn't Oliver Reck the Schalke keeper though? I remember him when we played Schalke in 2001/2002.

    Weise is someone I like as well. Breman have fantastic Germans in himself, Borowski, Klose, Frings etc. Such a shame that the Emerson incident will remain long in the memory.

    Not hearing so much on Tim Hildeband anymore, has he gone of the boil now.

    I'm not surprised you have good youth goalkeepers in your country. You have a fantastic tradition of producing them.

    Kopke, Kahn, Lehmann, Illgner have all been great gaolkeepers from recent past.

    Oliver Reck played for Schalke indeed, but before that, he played for us. Another player those filthy Schalke bastards stole from us. But Reck was a rather unusual German goalie, a Victor Valdez / David James type. Some superhuman saves followed by some awful mistakes. So I'm not really bitter about losing him... Wink

    Wiese saved our arse in the UEFA Cup against Ajax with a genuine world class performance recently. He has matured considerably since that incident against Juve, one of our most consistent performers. I might be biased, but if I was Joachim Löw, I'd replace Lehmann with Wiese after the 2008 EC.

    Hildebrand is actually havng an excellent season as well. He will leave Stuttgart next season though. You could get him for cheap to replace Lehmann.
