Cesc could be a good successor for Vieira, I hope we go for him!! £20M well spent if this goes thru.

    Inter plan Fabregas raid
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Inter are already working on their plans for next season and have targeted Arsenal sensation Cesc Fabregas.

The Nerazzurri look certain to win the Scudetto, but failed to progress to the Champions League quarter-finals and want to strengthen their squad in view of next year’s European tournament.

Inter’s midfield has been plagued with several injuries this term and President Massimo Moratti (pictured) is aware that the side needs to be competitive in all departments if it wants to win the prestigious trophy.

The 20-year-old Fabregas is reportedly ready to end his adventure with the Premiership club and the player’s agent has been contacted by several major European sides, including Inter.

The Beneamati would probably need to invest close to £20m to bring the Spanish midfielder to the San Siro, but Moratti is reportedly willing to consider the idea.

Oh and whats your source for this article Bluenine - this looks like shockingly poor journalism...

when it says 'Fabregas is reportedly ready to end his adventure with the premiership club' - I'm guessing the person that reported that to him was the reporters pet guinea pig which used a rodent form of morse code to try and convey the message.

£20 million! I'd take that If I was Arsenal.

Denilson is already worth £8 million and may be more prolific as well.

This article is from the Channel 4 website...I doubt if Fabregas will be ready to make a move & also if Arsenal would be ready to sell him at this point in time

You will need to fork over at least 35-40 million pounds to buy it out that 8 year contract.

    I wouldn't.

He's 20 and already one of the world's most intelligent footballer's with the ball at his feet - he has the potential to get better with time as well.

And recently both Wenger and Henry said that Cesc is Arsenal's most important play, both now and for the future - he's our Ronaldo.

I'm sure you're probably just trying to be a WUM though, because to any genuine Arsenal fan the concept of selling one of the world's brightest talents for just £20m is plain laughable.

And thats not even mentioning the fact that a) he doesn't want to go and b) he certainly wouldn't want to go to Serie A

Just maybe Denilson could turn out to be every bit as good as Fabregas and they are not likely to work together. For £20 million you could even go after someone like Hargreaves yourselves.

Hargreaves/Diaby/Gilberto/Denilson would leave you with very strong midfield options.

Can a small english club with no silverware hopes hold on to a good talent for 8 years?? I doubt it... I am sure players like Cesc would like to win something in their life, don't ya think? Wink On top of it, he is spanish, so international trophies are already ruled out Laugh

Denilson is very good but he's nowhere near as good as Cesc depsite being roughly the same age.

He also doesn't have the creativity or X factor of Cesc.

Trust me, I doubt we'd even sell cesc for £30m - he's the future of our club and the management and players all agree with that.

Aye - but the article is just complete tripe - he's said very recently that he loves the club and that he wants to stay there for the forseeable future, HOWEVER he did concede that later in this life he would like to move back to SPAIN.

Do you see the phrases 'eave in the summer' or 'to Italy' mentioned anywhere in that? Wink

I've gone over this with you before bluenine. For some players its not all about winning trophies in second rate leagues. Cesc is a model professional and I'm sure he'd rather have a competitive challenge at Arsenal than walk to yet another title with inter....

competittive league bluenine - y'know, one in which more than two teams can actually put up a decent fight and in which some of the smaller clubs have some top class players.

y'know, so, like, every week the game is interesting because you're playing decent opposition and the other team has a chance of doing you.

If I was a player I honestly couldn't see the point of joining a club that plays in a league where attendances average 20,000 and where 10 of the clubs in the league generally don't have a hope in hell of either atracting decent players to them or keeping hold of any young talents they develop themselves

Let's see - have Arsenal previously bought young players, built up their reputation and then sold them on to bigger clubs? Yes.

Do Arsenal have any money? Dunno, but Wenger seems intent on not spending it so he has a ready-made excuse for underachieving.

Are Inter a premier club compared with Arsenal? Most definitely.

Has Cesc shown any particular loyalty to Arsenal? Never.

He'll be sold, sooner or later. It's just the way of things with Arsenal. Apart from Henry, but we know he takes it from Arsene so cannot be sold.

No, we will still play Cambiasso and Vieira, they are good together.

But Inter want to avoid a situation like against Valencia this season when Cambiasso, Vieira, and Dacourt were injured, and we didn't have any replacement. Cesc is young, and he will be a good back-up and future starter if he learns by watching masters like Cambiasso in action Wink
